I hope with that package we're getting Carter with Nash.

Yeah I'm not sure of the accuracy of the report, but if there are other assets in play, I imagine it is a prospect or draft pick, with Columbus sending Sanford and possibly an additional forward (Matt Calvert would be a nice pickup).

I hope it isnt for real. Lokti looks like he is going to be a heck of a hockey player someday. Im ok with trading any prospects/young guys with the exception of Toffoli and Lokti

I don't think that will affect their play much. It's all overrated, really.

They would have too, That is way over paying. Think about this, That is THREE Current Roster players on the Kings. Mike Richards netted Philly ONE, Schenn was a prospect.

Mike Richards has done WAY MORE than Nash .

Agree, I'd rather pay less for Carter. That's just too much.

Agreed damacles1156. Way to much. DL should be fired for doing a deal like that.

It's TFP though, so I take it with a grain of salt. It's likely that those are the players being discussed in a Nash deal and Bernstein just lumped them all together.

Wouldn't even do that, That's TWO Roster players from the Kings. You don't just Trade Roster players Willy Nilly.

Columbus would have to add a Prospect like Matt Calvert.

It can't be legit, but it would be one of the worst deals I've ever seen a Kings GM do.

The thing with Lombardi is that he has never been into pure goal scorers. He is into complete hockey players that play in every zone, leadership qualities, etc...

I have ranted about this before.

You'll never see us with guys like Jussi Jokinen, James Neal, Phil Kessel, or Michael Ryder types because they don't fit into DL's system of being a complete player.

The Purcell/Moulson bandwagonners will jump in on this I'm sure. Whether I agree with their trades or not it just goes back to the types of players Lombardi wants.

It's ok to be a one-dimensional defensive player, but not a one-dimensional offensive player in L.A.

The one-dimensional offensive player is making a comeback though. You don't need a team full of them, but you do need one or 2 guys whose job it is there to go out there and score goals even if they have some liability on defense. Especially, when you find yourself down more often than not because you can't score the 1st goal.

Lombardi needs to identify a guy or 2 here pretty quick to add some scoring punch.

We have the luxury of a great defensive corps that should allow us to have one or 2 guys whose job is to score. Period. That's it.

We have a system that will cover for players similar to who I listed above. We just need DL to go out and get guys whose job is to score.

That is a painful offer. A probable starting goaltender, a top 4 offensive defenseman, a potential 2nd line playmaking center, and a pick for a 30-40 goal sniping power forward and a veteran/rental backup goaltender. I hope Calvert is in that deal if such a deal were to happen. I'll believe it when I see it though. Haven't seen TFP predict much of anything.

Calvert is 5'9, tough size. Kubalik(sp) seems like an interesting prospect with size and net presence. Still waaay too much for Nash.

I don't know... It is a lot to give up, but players of Nash's caliber don't come available very often. JJ and Bernier are more or less replaceable. I am hesitant to give up Lokti, but Nash is a true gamebreaker and we can't miss out on him.

They can party as much as they want as long as they could get us to a Stanley Cup they could beat up old ladies when they aren't playing for all I care.

People don't get it man lol

That's Three roster players Currently on the Kings. When has any team in the last 6 years. Traded away three roster players, for a guy like Nash.

Mike Richards netted ONE, plus an Elite prospect. Carter, ONE Roster player Elite Draft Pick (top 10).

Hossa ? Heatly ? Kovi ?

Yah not going to happen.

The only way I could see DL upping his offer to that extent is if the 1st rounder Howson allegedly wants was taken off the table.

And a Grade A prospect (Winger) coming back to LA from Columbus.
