Based on the fact that everybody knows that Burkes has already have been offered a 2nd + prospect for him, an obviously that wasn't worth enough in Burke's eyes. So Burke views him a lot higher than just a prospect more than Dominic Moore. It's really just common sense, if Moore can get a 2nd, I'm pretty sure Grabovski would have no problem netting us a late 1st. It's all about gauging value at the moment, because like you said nobody whose similar to Grabovski's situation has been traded.

Not saying I know exactly what Grabo is worth, but Burke did not turn down the offer according to reports. It was reported that the offer was on the table and that Burke had 3 choices: accept it, re-sign him, or try and get more from the team. So it's not really that he's worth more then that. He very well may be, but at this point no one knows. It really depends on the prospect IMO. Burke has shown favor over picks for prospects in the past and I don't expect that to change.

Its likely the prospect was a team's top-3. In the minor deals so far we've seen 2nds and 3rds for Hall Gill and Grossman... gotta think Grabo is worth MUCH more than them.

Yes, he probably is. The problem is that it's tough to get a 1st for all but the highest level impending UFA's right now. There are always ebbs and flows in terms of the value GM's put on first round picks. Right now, most GM's are in the camp that their first round picks are gold (of course, some are more willing to move the picks, but I think collectively they're a lot less willing than they were say 3-4 years ago).

Grabovski: 1st + 2nd
Sounds right, Grabovski might be available if Carter lands in TO.

Give you Kennedy + 2nd + low end prospect for Kulemin.

i cant see burke moving kulemin unless its for an upgrade. there just isnt any reason to move him. he is only making $2.35 million and is an rfa after this season. even though he isnt putting up the same amount of points as last season he is arguably our best defensive forward. if he continues to play on the 3rd line and focus solely on defensive responsibilities it is still highly valuable to the leafs.

grabovski will only be moved if he wont/cant be resigned. if that is the case i would think there is a good market for 50-60 point 2nd line centers who rarely are injured, are above average defensively, and make under $3 million. considering burke got a top prospect, a 1st, and a conditional 2nd for kaberle i cant see grabs being traded for significantly less if it came down to it.

if burke had to move mac i would want at least a 2nd and a good prospect.
