Agreed. He had only 1 shot on goal, which was a sneaky shot, but was invisible other than that. His defense appears to have regressed since his Philly days, he was turning over the puck a lot.

I wonder if he's not giving his all because he fears that Columbus won't be inclined to trade him if he's playing well, although he did have some games in Philly where he was a non-factor like last night's game. Whatever the reason, he's going to have a hard time appealing to other teams if he continually plays like he did last night.

No, he is not of Nash's calibur, but Nash is not worth it in so many ways that trading for an alternative guy would be much wiser.

His cap hit is only $1.63M and it will remain that way until 2014 when he's an RFA. Obviously Montreal would have to be heavily convinced to trade him but we have the defensive pieces they desperately need.
If Montreal is rebuilding, then why would they trade their 23 year old player, loaded with potential who is signed for peanuts for the next 2 years??? We are NOT getting Max. That deal makes absolutely zero sense for Montreal.

Can't wait until all of this is over and we can get back to hockey.

I'm also willing to bet that Dubi's game gets better once the deadline passes.

Rangers should not try to top that offer. No way, no how. He can play in Los Angeles then. Rangers should get Nash for THEIR price, not Columbus's

IMO....that LA package is very overrated.

Bernier has proven nothing at the NHL level. Johnson is an overrated 2nd pairing defenseman. And Loktionov is in the same boat as Bernier.

Columbus must have lowered their asking price if the Rangers are the frontrunner. Going off of Dreger's recent track record, the Rangers aren't the frontrunner.

I winder if this is like the Heatley situation where everyone was saying he would take a TON to trade for and then he got dealt for not that much at all.

The thing about the LA rumor that gets me is that TFP's the only "source" that's mentioned it. They aren' exactly accurate. In fact Dennis the guy that tweeted the rumor tweeted that the outcome hinges on Ty Conklin's waiver situation...

He's been off a lot lately, I agree but still consider him much more reliable than TFP.

Hockey Buzz Eklund
@Eklund

Sounds like the price for Nash is a little less that what is being widely reported. That according to team who is out now.
Please remember to discuss the rumor, not the source.

Eklund has proven in the past to have legitimate contacts inside the Flyers organization. If the Flyers are indeed the team who has dropped out (which is true according to Dreger), then is it very possible Eklund actually has some info here.

It would be great to see the price lowered.

Boston GM Peter Chiarelli went on record last week that Tuukka Rask and defensive uber-prospect Dougie Hamilton will not be traded. Chiarelli's said that before about Rask, but I wanted to double-check after Nash's availability became known. Mentioned on Hotstove that it's believed the Rangers told Columbus that neither Michael del Zotto nor Ryan McDonough are available.

Wolski, 2nd and Anisimov for Nash. Seems fair to me.

I'd like to see it lowered down to a Hossa to Pittsburgh type level. You're right about Eklunds Philly connection I didn't put those two tweets together nice investigative work.

I still feel if the Rangers land Nash it will not be an overpayment BUT it will cripple them in the future and it'll be purely for a cup run this year.

If the price has been lowered, why have the Flyers dropped out? Wouldn't the reverse be true?

LOL at any proposal including Wolski.

Rangers can just waive him if they need cap space. Wolski is the exact type of player that Columbus needs to avoid, and I can't see any reason why Columbus (or most teams in the league, for that matter) would want him in a package.

Agreed 100%. Considering cap number and production, I can't say he'll go for more than what Heatley went for.

A team like Columbus may want a RFA-to-be like Wolski. Wherever he signs next year, it certainly will be for less than a 3.8 hit. Wolski for 2 mil a year isn't a bad deal for a guy who's ability exceeds his hockey sense. I don't think he's all that unattractive to a team like CBJ.
