I could definitely see Poile giving up Nashville's 1st for Hemsky.

Makes sense. It's been talked about a lot here already. Jon Blum would be the likely target for Edmonton.

"E4 - This rumor comes from more than one source with ties to the players or teams involved."

This just means he's had two different people tell him about the "rumour".

If Nashville is pulling out all the stops this season, then you get the feeling that Suter is not being retained.

But i hope this is just the sign of things to come for the Preds. ie. Becoming a cap team.

The 1st they really needed was the one they traded for Penner's offersheet. (Tyler Myers)

Right after the Nash to LA trade that has Hunter and Penner coming back?

You don't really have got think that. You shouldn't, more likely. I highly doubt Nashville would consider moving Ellis in deal for Hemsky. Let alone adding to that. Their own first rounder would not be out of the question.

No way we trade Ellis for someone with only 5 goals. It'll most likely be Blum, or our 1st.
I just hope we don't give up something we'll end up regretting.

Even though it's Eklund, he's been accurate with a lot of his Predator rumors, well except for the Ovechkin one.

Hemsky has 4 goals and is -15.
A first?! That's funny.

Preds would be crazy to give up Ellis for a pile of glass.

If Nashville's 1st would be in play, why exactly would you give it for Hemsky instead of Kostitsyn?

Hemsky wouldn't be a good fit in Nashville. What sniper do they have for him to feed the puck to? Wilson? Legwand? Hornqvist (who plays the same position)? I can't see him fitting there. The Predators need a goal scorer a lot more than they need a playmaking wing.

Obviously I'm not saying he'd come here, but his style of play would be much more suited for a guy like Tavares, who is a goal scoring center. And playing with Moulson who is a goal scoring LW. Again, not saying he'd come to the Island, but his style of play is more suited for that then anyone on the Predators really.

If there was one year Nashville should go all in, it has to be this year. Losing Ellis for Hemsky is nothing if there's a good chance at the cup.

It doesn't make sense for Poile to trade Kostitsyn when they're trying to compete imo

He's also a playmaker on the 29th place team...

I think wherever he ends up, people on HF are going to think it's an overpayment. Most people (such as the guy I quoted above) are way to near sighted and forget his skill level

He'd be a good fit on the top line, but I can't see a deal that makes sense for both sides happening

I don't know if I would. I don't think it's impossible. And the answer would be easy - different evaluation of their respective talents. It's not impossible they feel that one of those guys is a better fit with their team. Stranger things have happened.

Until he injures a shoulder again

so that should mean more time to put up points

When you only have someone for a month and a half, short sighted is what you have to be.

Hopefully very short sighted then, because he's been playing well lately . I just mean, people put too much into him being hurt the last 2 years, and ignoring the calibre of player he is
