I know people will immediately think Siemens as the guy the Flyers reportedly wanted before Couturier fell, but consider really carefully why we would be talking about acquiring a prospect at the deadline after we just shipped out futures to prepare for a postseason run.
Also consider the fact that had we taken Siemens over Couturier and/or Hamilton I would've flipped my lid.
I think that it's safe to say that if there are discussions between Colorado and Philadelphia, they're not meaningful unless EMFJ is involved.

Would we really have to add to JvR to get EJ? I've never really been overly impressed with him...kind of in that underachieving Jack Johnson category. I'll be happy if my ignorance can be proven wrong though...

We'd have 7 top 4 defensemen...?
Note: There are a handful of players I would consider moving JVR for: EJ, Carlson, Karlsson, Fowler, Doughty, Bogosian, Pietrangelo, etc. All young defensemen. Other than that, we should not even consider moving JVR.
EJ for JVR would be fair in my opinion, underperforming #2 overall pick who has shown flashes of brilliance for an underperforming #1 overall pick who has shown flashes of brilliance.

At this point Kimmo's been the only reliable one, and I see Grossman and Kubina as #5's. Carle, Mez, and Coburn seem to run around like a headless chicken as of late. But as a cap dump it makes sense, hopefully they'd add a pick or prospect to that for Carle.

EJ and McClemment for Stewart and Shattenkirk I believe, last season.
I can see why Colorado would be asking about JVR but seriously doubt that Johnson could be had for just JVR. I think they would want Schenn + something good or JVR + something not quite as good. They can ask for Courutier all they want but I firmly believe that Holmgren and everybody within the Flyers love the kid and won't let him go from just about anything. Colorado gave up Stewart and Shattenkirk (which was stupid) just to get him so I seriously doubt they'd send him to Philly for JVR alone. I wouldn't do it if I were them.

Quincey, Winnick and Jones I think are all UFAs after this season so no thanks. I do like Jones but much, much more would have to come back for JVR.

Eric Johnson kind of sucks IMO. Has done nothing to warrant any sort of praise except for the fact he was drafted number 1 overall. If we were to get someone from the AVS i would hope it would be Siemens +

Exactly, they gave up some pretty solid potential to get EJ, in fact St. Louis fans are loving Shattenkirk's play this season. They're not about to trade EJ.
1. The avs are a tight organization. I can't remember any Avs trades not coming out the blue, save for Mueller for Wolski. It seems like all trades are absolute shockers, in the "didn't see it coming" way.
2. Erik Johnson is the best player on the avs right now, and his physical ability is through the roof. Duchene would probably be out the door well before Johnson.

Kevin Shattenkirk
Avs 2nd rounder (Ty Rattie).
Chris Stewart hasn't looked good this season and has actually started playing on the 4th line. Shatty has indeed looked good and has fit perfect on their core.
EJ has actually played very well for us since December. It's one of those things where the numbers aren't going to show it unless you watch Avs on a consistent basis, which is a torture I wish on no enemy.
no thanks. keep JVR please. I'm confident he will be a consistent 35 goal scorer. Future of JVR, G, Coots, Schenn, Jake, Simmonds, Read and good depth guys like Akeson is an awesome forward core and incredibly young.
