EJ-Coburn
Kimo-Kubina
Grossman-Mez

****ing solid right there, and yes I'd give them Carle to, maybe try to get another piece from them.
Unless COL has an interest in signing him, giving them Carle doesnt do much for them

Just assuming that they would try and sign Carle for replacing EJ, I can dream

I would take Giguere if it meant being able to get rid of Bryz (wishful thinking!)

...Duchene is, at the moment, arguably the third most valuable asset on that team, after EJ / Landeskog, in some order. He has some of the same shortcomings that have hindered JVR--skates so fast that he doesn't have time to slow the play down and pick out the best option; a tendency to chest-snipe shots.

Mostly, though, a forward swap for JVR makes little sense, particularly if its a younger forward.

You wouldn't want Johnson, or Landeskog? I think a line of Couturier, and Landeskog would be a sick two way line for years.

I'd take EJ or Landeskog for sure.

Absolutely, but I can't imagine them trading either for JvR. EJ would be a great pickup but I don't understand why they would want to deal him for JvR. The Avs have plenty of cap room so they could match any offer. I assume he is at least in their plans to be the anchor of that defense (if he isn't already, I didn't even know he was playing in Colorado until yesterday). Or are they just worried they won't be able to sign the rest of their forwards (since it looks like the entire team is either UFA or RFA next season).

Never liked Landeskog since before the draft since I followed Couturier for over a year prior. When the Flyers actually got him I was like a kid in a candy store. As far as EJ, I would rather have the team try to sign Suter on July 1st. With the recent moves I am ok with what we have now and do no want to move JVR unless we are getting a more talented forward coming back which is unlikey unless its Nash but that will cost Schenn/Couturier also which Im not for.

Well with Downie to Colorado, maybe Colorado was shopping all around trying to find another top 6er. They inquired about JVR and the Flyers simply said no thanks. At least thats how I would take this

Yeah that's my guess. I would assume this trade means they are no longer interested.

If Downie got Quincey straight up, I'm really anxious to see what JVR can get in this market.

Judging by the Colorado fans, both on the trade board and their own, they believed that JVR could be had for Quincey, with at best a modest addition on their end.

I wouldn't mind moving JVR if the right deal came along, but I'm thrilled we passed if that's what Sherman brought to Holmgren.

Tampa immediately flipped Quincey for Detroit's 1st... watch Colorado ship Downie to Philly as part of a package for JVR.

Downie + EJ for JVR + Carle.

Done.

Realistically I might consider Downie + DS + 2nd for JVR + Carle.

I'd be cool with that. I was (am) a big Downie fan.

To COL
JvR
Carle
Middle of the road prospect like Akeson, Wellwood, or Gus

To PHI
EJ
Downie

Why do we always want the players back?? Just let them go people... and EJ isn't available. They want him to be their Franchise d-man.

Yeah, that's about what I was thinking. Something with the basis of Downie/Siemens for JVR. It's been reported that our Brass apparently loved Siemens, and I wouldn't be surprised If Homer wanted to bring Downie back. I know the second we trade JVR he'll take that next step, but I do love me some Steve Downie.

I was just coming to say the same thing. Downie, Siemens, mid-pick for JvR would be my guess. I personally wouldn't do it but with Homer who knows?

This would be nice, however it's not going to happen. The Av's love Erik Johnson, so there's no possible way that he'll be dealt~

It's an idea, but it's not the best idea. I agree with you.

Downie would look amazing here, but it's not perfect.

We have Simmonds, but we don't have a guy like who JVR projects to be.

It's a tough call for sure.

Why the hell wouldn't you do that trade? That is essentially more than the Flyers got for Carter.

Carter got a slightly higher draft pick and a slightly better player and Carter's value was much higher than JvR's.

Really don't want Downie back to be honest you. The value is there though and I know Homer really wanted Siemens.

I can't imagine they'd move EJ now with Quincey moving.
