Tomrw's Game

It will be interesting to see the lineups for tommorow...it's going to be a very physical game I think and luckily we have the home-ice advantage so the crowd can get us going. I think Hollweg will probably play because Hossa lost a lot of teeth and we need a physical presence anyway...Do you guys think that will be the only real change, and who do you think plays in goal?

Rucinsky should sit tomorrow for Holly or Orr.

Rucinsky has been playing lazy and that will kill us against the Devils.

I doubt we sit a big player after 2 wins, thought.

Am I the only one that fears that Lundqvist was played today only because Renney wanted to baby him and give Weekes the game tomorrow. I pray to god that's not the case.

Agreed. He's just going through the motions out there. Useless on the PP.

NYR Fan 2 -- Hossa got hit with the puck and lost some teeth/cut his chin.

And somehow I get the feeling Weekes is starting tomorrow...just a bad feeling.

If Weekes is played tomorrow, can someone tell me the reasoning? Does Renney not think he's as good as we think? Is Renney worried that we'll get beat in these important games and that'll ruin Lundqvist's confidence? Because this would be yet another such game. Like the one against the Flyers.

I would think the only sure thing about tomrrows game is that Lungvist will start.

I agree, I would be shocked if he didn't start. The Devils are catching up, so this is a big game. It seems like the coaching staff has lost confidence in Weekes, he probably won't play till after the Buffalo game.

Right...Lunds playing back to back games in 2 nights, especially when he noted in the newspaper just a few days ago of fatigue. Weekes will get the start. As much as the idea is painful, you just can't believe lundqvist can play that much. But hell if i were renney i would go to lunds and ask him "are you up for the challenge?"

I don't really see your point. It's Weekes' fault if he plays tomorrow instead of tonight? The fans are going great lengths to smear Weekes at this point.

Renney probably thinks Kevin has a good history against NJ. I wouldn't necessarily agree, but Weekes got a few starts this season against the Devils for this reason. I would have gone the other way around.

Starting Hollweg would be a good idea. See how he responds to his job being threatened by some good starts by Hossa. I doubt anyone would be calling for Rucinsky to sit if his one shot went in instead of off the post. The real issue with this team is the powerplay. Hope they can tweak something in time for tomorrow.

When did I say it was Weekes' fault? And this history thing is BS. Especially if it's a history before this season. Play your best goalie in your most important games. Is that not obvious? Who cares about history?

Renney needs to play Lundqvist as this is a must game, and Marty is hot. History means nothing as Weekes was good against NJ with another team, and recent history 0-4-1, should be enough not to start him till after Buffalo. Hollweg should play over Hossa, and Pock should play instead of Rozsival.
