I agree. Too many teams in the playoff race plus we have a couple games against some physical/hardworking teams to re-evaluate our team. Who know, if Olsen continues to impress and stay in the 20 TOI then we have our 4th d-men. Then, he will have to snag a physical forward like a Ott(I heard he's avail. but might cost us a top prospect), Jones(COL) or Ruutu. I hate Ott but we need that type of toughness with Toews and Kane.

I can't express in words how happy I'd be if we landed Ott. This team needs him.
This team with Ott and Burish along with - BOLLAND, Mayers, Hayes, Bickell in the bottom 6 would be amazing. And possibly Carcillo in there next year. Oh boy.

Ott has cap hit of $2.95 per year through 2014 so he would be a serious decision, although with Carcillo and Brunette likely gone next year the money is there without changing anything else.
Actually Quincey was traded to Tampa Bay and not Detroit. The Hawks have been talking to both teams and just maybe the Lightning traded for Quincey to be used in a trade to the Hawks. Teams have done this before - traded for a player to be used in another trade.

Brian Allen is probably the best UFA defenseman left although if they are willing to bet on D.O. filling the hole at #4 then maybe the target shifts to add grit up front. But yes, Stanbo has had since last summer to set-up the spring lineup and the clock is running out.

He needs to refrain from doing something, **** is just too damned expensive.
Quincey is first on Colorado is ATOI, the Wings are going to draft around 28-30. Maybe in 4 years the guy they draft can fill that sort of role. With a team that is in win now mode, that is not a huge price to pay.
