Technically, the only source out there proving anything on this matter states that Joffrey Lupul is Ukrainian-Canadian.
ex-NHLer Gary Lupul is also documented as being of Ukrainian descent.
Where this "Lupul's mother is Romanian, and he has a Romanian last name that means wolf!" conjecture came from is anyone's guess (possibly this thread?)
