Recall Zuccarello/Avery/Etc

Send down Mitchell and bring up the guy with some offensive game. Should have been done a month ago.

Mitchell blows. Torts doesn't like players with skill though.

That or let Wolski play. This is getting ridiculous having Bickel in the lineup. Mitchel is a 13th forward.

Wolski and Zuccarello can't be worse than Mitchell and Bickel. I'd keep Bickel over Mitchell on the roster for the enforcer value though. Send Mitchell back to CT.

That was brutal tonight. Their offense was like watching paint dry

Mitchell = MAD SKILLS.

Thats why he is on for every PP and with 1 minute left in a game when we are down.

I would still welcome Avery back. Avery is the only guy in this organization who can really get the team pumped up and get the fans into it.

I agree. That's especially true come playoff time.
Remember the sweep against Atlanta? The almost-sweep against New Jersey?
Obviously, this team is pretty damn good even without him. But it's even better with him.

That applies to Zuc, too, so let me say this- he does have speed.
Everyone calls Zuccarello slow, but he's getting faster with every game.

Anyway, the point is we have a few dead-weights on the team and a few players that at least add something in the minors.

No reason not to make the obvious moves.

I don't understand all the Avery hate. I love when he runs his mouth. It pisses the other team off and rattles their game. That's what makes him valuable and then he puts one in the net and they get more pissed. Claude Lemieux had the same attitude as Avery and you would have been nuts not to take him (albeit he was a better hockey player). Same goes for Barnaby. I loved all of those guys.

Hey I don't have any qualms with Boyle being on the ice, I think he's a decent player. Maybe he gets a LITTLE too much ice time, but I think he's better than both Mitchell and Stu Pickels. We gotta drop the dead weight that is Mitchell, or severely cut his ice-time.

Couldn't agree more. Not many players have the balls to bring that to the table.

And these guys weren't dirty, either, which makes the hatred all the more mysterious. Guys like Cooke and Simon go under the radar as they try to injure everyone in sight, but Avery inventively screening a goaltender and pointing out that losers settle for his ex-girlfriends make him an irredeemably baleful person.

I mean my god how many times did you see Claude Lemieux make a game changing "play" by pissing someone off or being a pest. I would kill to get an Avery/Tikanen/Barnaby/Lemieux on this team. They fire up the crowd and the players.

Love this video

Avery... Avery... Avery

We need the Avery spark. Torts should be signing that apology card right now.

What do all of these guys have in common? They were the best in the business at pumping up their team and the fans.

Amen. That sudden momentum change is really something we've missed all season. We could have used Avery pissing Fleury or Malkin off this game. At the very least, we could have used a fight, which we have really missed lately (Sestito getting the **** beaten out of himself every Flyer game notwithstanding).

And again, this ability to create energy isn't even Avery's only strength. He's easily a reliable second-line scorer.

That is a great video. I share with you my favorite: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7NiJHboUlis

If Avery was in this game we wouldn't even get into the offensive zone because of the number of times he'd go offsides.

But yeah, Avery and Zuccarello won't play for the Rangers ever again, that bridge has burned.

Avery adds what this team has been lacking. A thorn in the side of the opposition.

This team has been lacking goal scoring and offensive creativity, not another 3rd-4th line grinder that's only positive is that he agitates.
