That's a good point, but I still think he's going to pick it up in the playoffs.

If Dubinsky is being traded, they sure arent doing a good job of showcasing him. That's usually a sign.

I was saddened to hear Sam say "Dubinsky comes out of the Box and goes right to the bench....Rangers on a PP"

I mean, the guy has been a fixture on the PP since his rookie season. Now he's relegated to 3rd and 4th line time.

Sad

When I see this game, I'd have no problem giving up Anisimov, Dubinsky, Erixon and a 1st for Nash. It is evident we lack the offensive prowess to make a deep run in the playoffs.

Our offense tonight was comical. The number of slow perimeter shots we registered was baffling. For one reason or another, Richards feels like it is a good move to take slow slap shots from the perimeter.

The play where Malkin, the best player in the NHL, walked in on a break away was laughable too.

Not jumping the gun, still think we're a good team, can't win them all, but we couldn't generate the chances needed to compete tonight. When you see a game like that you think "Wow, Rick Nash can certainly help in this department."

Lundqvist is the only player I'm voting for tonight.

The entire effort was discombobulated.
Pittsburgh was not that great, but they did what they needed to and were competent. They just weren't tested hard enough.

Henrik made a few amazing saves. As for the rest, it truly is a game to forget, except I want them to remember that this was a poor effort.

Damn I hate getting shuout. They were outplayed. Not badly - they had their moments - but the full throttle 60-min effort was sorely lacking.

And honestly has been for 3 games now. It's not the end of the world but this team needs a bit of a kick in the ass IMO.

On a positive note I actually thought the PP was moving the puck decently. Not that that alone counts for anything.

Terrible effort.

I hate to say it but Dubinsky has shown basically nothing recently.

Continuing to prove what the rest of the league thinks... that the Rangers are overrated.

Good: Boyle, Henrik
Bad: Mitchell, Dubinsky, Callahan, Stepan, Stralman, Bickel, power play

Talent gap was evident.

NO.

He's had every opportunity to find a spot. He flat out sucks. He doesn't even score much and never will for us. Not to mention he's super soft. Can't wait until his cap hit is off the books.

To use a basketball analogy, the Rangers are like the Bulls, although they don't have a Rose. The Penguins are like the Heat. We saw what happened last year when the more defensive team faced the more talented team. The Rangers are not even in the same league as the Penguins when the Penguins aren't playing like **** (like their first game against us). This series should be 3-1. The Rangers were horrible in the last game in Pittsburgh too.

People need to come off the ledge, please.

the Rangers had a really tough 5-game stretch against Philly, at Boston, Washington, Chicago and at Pittsburgh.

They went 3-2 in those games. Very respectable.

The schedule gets easier for about two weeks.

@ Isles
Buffalo
Devils
@Carolina
@ Tampa

After that it gets slightly tough again:

Boston
@ NJD
@ Ottawa
@ Chicago

If the rangers are going to make a trade, they should do it before the Isles game so the new player(s) will be ready for the tough stretch.

You are what your record says you are. One stinker does not all of a sudden change everything. The Rangers are great team this year that relies heavily on defense and goal tending. The Rangers did not lose this game because of either of the aforementioned, but because our offense is a crap shoot. There's a real lack of talent offensively, and that's the Rangers biggest issue. It rears its ugly head every now and then. It does not mean that "this is a bad hockey team".

Except for Lundqvist, I don't think anyone else deserves a star tonight.
Everyone looked passionless and lethargic the whole game.
Our offense has been dead lately. Overall, not a good effort.
Regroup and play better against the Isles and onward.

Holy ****, I looked at that Toronto game and holy **** that goaltending made Bryzgalov and Bobrovsky look like Patrick Roy and Dominik Hasek.

Columbus could not have made better timing to go on an offensive tear while the Rangers laid an egg. Speaking for Columbus, if I were them I would want to get a trade done now now now to maximize value. This will not happen again between now and the deadline.

Lol at Fleury waving his glove around after the Artie save. Embellishment at its best.

What was great about the defense this game, the breakway to Malkin, the 3 on 1, or the half dozen times where they looked like they were on a 5 on 3 power play on us? No the defense didn't lose this game, but it wasn't even remotely good.

I honestly have no clue how this team has even a respectable goals scoring average. They have really one consistent scorer and even he is inconsistent. He either scores goals 5 games in a row where he scores in every game or 10 in a row where he doesn't score.

Maybe they're trying to hide how bad he's been from CBJ

Rangers didn't play bad, they just let Pittsburgh dictate the play. Pittsburgh forces the Rangers to make passes they don't want to make. When the Rangers dumped it in, Pittsburgh already had their breakout plan set up and executed, they just needed to get to the pucks first....and they did.

Rangers didn't hit near enough to my liking. They looked like a team that are what they are...Not very talented.

If Jodie Foster was to read the game day thread she might make a sequel to,

It's a lose. Almost 60 games and only 15 loses. The reactions here are amusing and amazing.
