Wolski and Zuccarello can't be worse than Mitchell and Bickel. I'd keep Bickel over Mitchell on the roster for the enforcer value though. Send Mitchell back to CT.
Young man, write this on the blackboard 500 times.
Zuccarello will never play for this team again.

I would still welcome Avery back. Avery is the only guy in this organization who can really get the team pumped up and get the fans into it.
I agree. That's especially true come playoff time.
Remember the sweep against Atlanta? The almost-sweep against New Jersey?
Obviously, this team is pretty damn good even without him. But it's even better with him.
That applies to Zuc, too, so let me say this- he does have speed.
Everyone calls Zuccarello slow, but he's getting faster with every game.
Anyway, the point is we have a few dead-weights on the team and a few players that at least add something in the minors.

No reason not to make the obvious moves.
I don't understand all the Avery hate. I love when he runs his mouth. It pisses the other team off and rattles their game. That's what makes him valuable and then he puts one in the net and they get more pissed. Claude Lemieux had the same attitude as Avery and you would have been nuts not to take him (albeit he was a better hockey player). Same goes for Barnaby. I loved all of those guys.
Hey I don't have any qualms with Boyle being on the ice, I think he's a decent player. Maybe he gets a LITTLE too much ice time, but I think he's better than both Mitchell and Stu Pickels. We gotta drop the dead weight that is Mitchell, or severely cut his ice-time.

Couldn't agree more. Not many players have the balls to bring that to the table.
And these guys weren't dirty, either, which makes the hatred all the more mysterious. Guys like Cooke and Simon go under the radar as they try to injure everyone in sight, but Avery inventively screening a goaltender and pointing out that losers settle for his ex-girlfriends make him an irredeemably baleful person.

I mean my god how many times did you see Claude Lemieux make a game changing "play" by pissing someone off or being a pest. I would kill to get an Avery/Tikanen/Barnaby/Lemieux on this team. They fire up the crowd and the players.

Amen. That sudden momentum change is really something we've missed all season. We could have used Avery pissing Fleury or Malkin off this game. At the very least, we could have used a fight, which we have really missed lately (Sestito getting the **** beaten out of himself every Flyer game notwithstanding).
And again, this ability to create energy isn't even Avery's only strength. He's easily a reliable second-line scorer.
