Well the lack of Dubi ice time is certainly foreshadowing imo. I still don't want Nash, but my opinion certainly wandered during the course of this game.

its not even that. we let chances fly away and gave the game up. Disgraceful. way too many missed chances and gaborik and richards wouldnt shoot

i honestly don't understand it. Gabs can shoot and he can score. being down 2-0 with less than half a period to play should put players in a shoot first mentality. it baffles me.

I was really for Nash, but I don't think this team is a Nash away from contending for the cup. The Crosby-less Penguins would still be more talented.

Be honest with yourself here, would anyone give up much for Dubinsky?

Even as part of a package, I doubt he'd carry much value to the table.

We all know this is a very good t-e-a-m who didn't have a good game.

Of course it is not panic time. We have all been treated to an incredible performance from them this season. Truly above and beyond expecations for me.

That fact does not change my review of this game. Saying they played a very disjointed game and missed out on what they do well - which is hitting which is what gets their blood flowing, is not at all equivalent to panicking or saying they are bad. I think they are a GREAT T-E-A-M.
There is no ledge.

I bet most of the guys on the team would know they had a rather blah outing tonight.

I said it before, and I'll say it again, and again, and again...we don't have the offensive talent of some of the other top teams in the league, and if our power play doesn't improve, we'll be lucky to win one playoff series this year.
We need another pure offensive threat very badly on the top 6, and if i heard correctly (on that homer pitt feed) our third line has a combined 14 goals this year. WOW!
As currently constructed we're lucky if we win one round this year. Hank can stand on his head so much, eventually at some point, his crown will hurt his head...

The Rangers haven't played particularly well in three games now. Let's not make a habit of it.

No way. He's homegrown, so he can do no wrong.

Got to feel bad for the guy. Dubi was starting to play better, and then the trade deadline happened.

He's the goat this season. Despite us having a team in 1st place the fans have to pin the ugly parts of the season on one player. It's not like our star players weren't passing right onto the stick of Penguins players or skating into one another. Nah, Dubi was the only "bad" player tonight despite setting McD up for a shot that he rang off the post. Only other good scoring chances we had the whole night was Richards deking into Letang's broken stick on the ice and Anisimov shooting it directly into MAF's glove.

I'd still actually give the goat award to Richards. What bothers me about Dubinsky is that he seems to think he's worth more than he is.

Re: Dubinsky

The same people calling for Dubinsky to be traded are probably the same ones that wanted Del Zotto and/or Gaborik gone last season. Don't be so quick to get down on a guy, even though he is indeed having a bad offensive season.

It's pretty damn close between Dubi and Richards. I think the difference is people have already given up on Dubi while they think Richards can bounce back next year or something. But neither of them have been as bad as most make it out to be.

what would you do if you did not want to be traded?? if he scored a goal, he would just increase his chance to get traded. hiding in Hartford would be a best option at this time.

They played fine against Columbus, I didn't like how they played against Boston though. Or Washington for that matter.

Ovechkin says hi, lol. Dubinsky has always been a glorified 3rd line grinder. He overachieved for a short period last year and in other years in fast starts. Then he's disappeared.

I think the acquisition of Brad Richards was a good move.

Thinking ahead, this team will acquire some speed. It has to, if you think about it, as you could not possibly have a guy like Kreider being held back because of linemates who cannot skate.

Watch the way Richards skated with the Stars. He was rushing the puck and making great passes. I wonder why people would believe that, suddenly, he lost that part of his game. He didn't.

This team is in transition. They are going to be a fast team, at least the top line will be. Blazing fast. It doesn't happen right away, but it will happen.

The sign of having an open mind is being able to change it. I used to consider that Brandon Dubinsky was integral to the team. I am not as convinced of that now as I was even 6 months ago. I do however believe that Brad Richards will improve as the team improves.
He was a very good acquisition.

Dubinsky is a redundant piece...mdz isnt.

Rangers havent had a good PMD in a long while...Dubi is a 3rd liner grinder who can pop in, say, 55 pts on the high end.

a nice player, but overpaid, and most definitely redundant.

lets also keep in mind, in general, players that change cities USUALLY do better in their 2nd and 3rd years than they do in their first years. its just hard to adjust to the new city and the new style of hockey, the new pressures, etc.

Honestly ive really like Richards the vast majority of this season. He's setup some of our best scoring chances...even tonight, if Cally doesnt get slashed, he makes the best pass of the night.
