The London Racers will be moving from their long-time home in Haringey to play in Lee Valley. There has been a team in Haringey since the 1930's. The Racers will play their first game in Lee Valley against the Coventry Blaze on Friday 14th November.
Racers chairman Roger Black said: "This is an important move for the London Racers. Lee Valley is an excellent rink. The facilities are much better than we’ve had this season and the management share our enthusiasm and drive to deliver the best hockey for our existing fans and newcomers alike.”
“We’re a new team and we’re happy to be making the changes we need to ensure our long term success. In Lee Valley we’ve found a partner who we can work with to make Friday night, ‘Hockey Night’ in East London.
“Our fans have stuck with us through a less than phenomenal start to the season and supported us as we’ve started this thing from scratch. We know that they’ll want to come with us to Lee Valley and see our improving team win games.
“We’ve listened to their feedback and shared the frustration. The move responds to what we’ve all wanted for this team from day one.”
