per John Lu of TSN during second intermission of tonights game on TSN regional coverage he stated that Moen has been advised he will not be traded.
I have no problem keeping him, but sign him before the freaking deadline. Don't wait after when he has all the leverage. If you want to stay then let's sign a reasonable contract 3 years and not a penny over 4.8 mil.
Stupid move to not dish him for picks and/or prospects.
He's getting older. He's not a cornerstone of the good things with this team. He's replacable.
This ****ing team has no clue.
Maybe it's worth the risk. Resigning Moen is better than trading him for a 4th or 5th round pick. He is a rental player, and injured rental players are worthless.

He isn't a cornerstone but he is a good veteran to have with younger players. By beef is an extension should be done in the next few days or I trade him.
but seriously yes, they should re-sign him unless a too good an offer to refuse comes up. make his job easier by signing better supporting cast for the 4th line
i wouldn't see a problem giving him roughly the same deal talbot got

This. He's old and getting close to washed up. In 3 years, he isn't going to have the rare offensive upside that he brings now. He also won't have the strength & grit that he has now.
We are better off in the long run getting a 2nd round pick for him. He doesn't even play a shut down role which was half the reason we brought him in. We are lucky in regards that we have better players to do that.
Basically says we should keep him cause every team needs a player like him but no team is willing to pay big money for this type of player. That all the money goes to the top 6 but everyone has talent in the top 6 but not everyone has Travis Moens. He does not understand why we would trade him and thinks he's worth every penny of his salary.
And I agree unless Travis wants to stay and we trade him so he can have a chance at a cup and come back...
Funny how players speak highly about gill and about moen and for cammy it was just generic comments.
Gorges is a smart guy and knows what kind of players the Habs need to have success in the future and players like Moen are important to the Habs.
Would be a foolish move to part with Moen. We'd see the strength/grit-skill gap widen immediately - and it's already quite wide on this team.
Didn't like the Gill trade either. Low 2nd pick and two failed prospects. Bah. Tinordi isn't ready yet. Bad move. Now we match up even worse with the B's and our PK will dive.
Kaberle trade was a cap disaster. Could keep both Moen and Gill for the price of a Kaberle.
I do not understand.
You don't win playoff series with guys like Kaberle unless he's surrounded by the toughest players in the league. And even then, he's a passenger.
You win with Moen and Gill and a bunch of midgets tho.

Moen is a good shutdown guy and an extremely reliable player from a defensive perspective. I wish for Moen – Plekanec – Gionta next season: it would be an effective shutdown line imo.
And, as I already mentioned: I SO wish to see White AND Moen in the line-up!
PS as pointed out by MasterDecoy: Moen is 29 years old... is that what you call old? The guy is in his prime!
He made lots of "friends" with Habs' players recently...
I don't really care about that. It's part of the game and there are many cases of rivals trash talking each other who ended up on the same team , buried the hatchet and did well. What he said wasn't the brightest thing in the world but sometimes **** is said in the heat of the moment. It wasn't the first time and won't be the last.
Gaustad is a great bottom 6 player and in the end that's what truly count.

True but he's also one of the premium bottom forward in the league imho. The guy bring a lot to the table and i wouldn't mind paying for him.
