Sunday to Saturday = a week should be the case, considering Sunday adds is for the following week's matchups.
And you also need to qualify exceptions. E.g. replacing an injured player

Any add/drops made before 12:01am on Monday counts for the week currently in progress (the week that is ending).

Add/drops in the case of injury do not count towards the weekly total.

Simple.

It's already less simpler than the one EV had and you agreed with.

Just saying.

Btw, lets get chat going again.....it's just been me and para, triviabot and kittehbot for the past few days...kinda boring.
Also as we near trade deadline, hopefully more people show up for chat and trade talks...exciting time again!

What about if I pick up a player on IR, put him on IR and then pick up another player. Is that one or two?

I'd say two...but people say otherwise.
Also Sunday adds should be for the following week...since players taken will be in effect for the Monday....which is not what CCF has in his previous quote.

So if I pick up a player at 11:50pm on Sunday night to replace someone who broke their leg in a game that night, and I already had 3 adds, then I've broken the streaming rule?

No, because that is an injury add, is it not?

Sunday to Saturday makes by far the most sense, otherwise we're just overcomplicating things.

Also, Phoenix is paying off big time for me. Mike Smith was a late round pick and Radim "5th to 30 goals" Vrbata came off the waiver wire. So many players seem to be able to carve out a career there despite being useless on all other teams in the league.

yahoo defines the weeks. This whole problem has a built in solution.

it manages it for us, no need for any of this.

If you have more than 3 players injured in a week, you probably wont win anyway.

This is absurd.

I say we scrap injury adds completely. 3 adds if you wanna be an idiot and use them all for spot starts you are screwed if you get injuries. In order to avoid the gong show with adding three on Saturday night id hazard suggesting a limit of one per day as well.

1 per day, 3 per week. Weeks are set by Yahoo. Simple.

In their simplified version there's no mention of injury adds.

So instead, come playoff time (when it actually matters) I will keep my 'stream' spot and fill it with a new player for each of Thursday, Friday, and Sunday (figure no openings Saturday). Heck, assuming I can find players playing on back-to-back nights, I can probably get one player for Sunday/Monday, another for Tuesday/Wednesday, and a third for Thursday/Friday. Best part is I don't get screwed by injuries because I save at least one add till Saturday night.

The point is, I'm fine with any of the simplified versions. But the reason we have a complicated rule is because there are ways to exploit the simple ones. If you want simple that's fine, but don't complain when people break the spirit of the rule without breaking the letter of the law.

We should probably make it so that the adds count as of the time that player becomes a part of your roster (so if you add on Sunday that counts for Monday), that probably satisfies both the crowd that wants the "week set by Yahoo" but also avoids the possibility of gaming the system. If we're just going to go straight up by Yahoo weeks then I can add 6 players every 2nd week, that's stupid.

Agreed. But I also still think the spot start rule should exist, since otherwise people can game the system at the end of each week if they haven't used their adds (or even throughout the week if they like).

Well how about we add the clause 'don't be a ******' when it comes to adding three players at the end of the week? Lol.

You'd open up a new can of worms to define ****** or whatever you typed in there.

It's just so simple to me. Don't add people for the sake of streaming (IE: when you add someone, add them for the sake of improving your team, not to get five extra shots or an assist or a goal, aka don't pull a CRD ), don't add more than three people in a week, and don't add more than one person a day.

Pulling a CRD = win.
Pulling anyone else = fail.

If it's so simple for you, why do you give a **** if the rules make it expressly clear as to what's allowed and what isn't?

I am fine with the rules the way they are, it seems pretty crystal clear to me what is allowed and what isn't. It's CRD and SelKesler that are making it more confusing than it is, not me.

Anderson is going to pitch a SHO on my bench and I am pretty indifferent 'bout it.

Edit: Washington scores!
