People know he is healthy, lots of players get hurt and not just because of his reputation, look at Ruutu. I would prefer to move them sooner than later.

I think wherever he ends up, people on HF are going to think it's an overpayment. Most people (such as the guy I quoted above) are way to near sighted and forget his skill level
Really? I thought he was an elite talent according to you guys.

Could have fooled me.

Probably more relevant to show his 2011-2012 highlights. In 2008, he probably was worth a first rounder.

Jaromir Jagr just said today that he thinks he might be able to put up 100 points in the right situation "he's just that skilled".

But random keyboard warriors on HF definitely have a better grasp on Hemskys abilities then an actual NHL player / first ballot hall of famer / previous teammate internationally right?

Quote:
“Whatever the management wants to do, they’ll do it. Might be good for the team (trade), might be good for him,” said Jagr. “He’s got talent, if he goes to a different team, it would be like a new start. Maybe he could get 100 points. He’s that skilled.

if we got just a 1st for him i would laugh my ass off and run away celebrating. to me he just doesnt fit. this whole team back check like demons and buy in to concepts like being a respectable two way player and count the points at days end. theres no room on any nhl team now to spend any dough or roster spot on a guy that cant back check like a rotty on a thief. Every player drafted now has a nose for both ends of the ice and if they dont play tight defense they dont get drafted--helll they dont even get thru junior. if i saw a slacker like hemsky coasting to his defensive respons. or dropping it completely... well lets just say im surprised he hasnt had broken bones this year because if messier was around hed be in 10000 pieces.

good luck to who ever gets him. he is only worth while from offensvie blue line in. the hockey iq is very low since hockey is 3 zones.

Isn't Hemsky an impending UFA? Oil should be happy with a 2nd.

They'd get a first and a middling defensive prospect like Josi.

Neither will be as good as Hemsky.

Lol Oil would rather re-sign than go for a Longshot player who might play in 4 years or never which is the usual case with 2nd rounders why they are thrown around like candy.

good sales pitch... but as anyone can see this is before the injuries... 1 minute devoted to goals in just one game where the team was playing their 3rd goalie... and rest pp goals.

the definition of 1 dimensional player.

in todays game with the 3 zone iq talents coming out of all ranks 300 a year... no room for a hemsky.

Josi is not a middling defensive prospect and there is NOOOO way we trade a first and him for Hemsky.

So what you're saying is the Oil should throw in a conditional 1st to even up the deal?

Really hemsky doesnt have a spot next year. I see us drafting Grigs at 2nd and gagner playing some wing and pivot on that line as a rhc and rhrw. Gags is staying...hemsky is going. It isnt talked about alot but magnus actually gets alot of his non dirty goals when he is on his off wing; he has a great release from there.

wow, i have read it all now...i know for a fact Nashville would not give Josi straight up for Hemsky let alone throw in a 1st...Hemsky may have got that 3 years ago, but he will be lucky to fetch a late 1st now...and I wouldnt give that either, but being a sellers market, someone will.

You know for a fact?? So you work for the Preds, located in a different country, somehow?

If Hemsky gets traded I'm betting it's for a lot more than most people on here seem to think.

He'll be second pairing at best. 2 is between 1 and 3. He is middling by the very definition.

And it's actually getting sad how Nashville fans (and apparently management) are content on sitting on their defense. Give something up or it's another early exit this year. The window is closing.

Considering he's already playing on our 2nd pairing I'd say at worst he's a 2nd pairing defender.
