I'd say average to slightly above average. His speed allows him to make quick plays where he's on the attacking player faster than they anticipate.

His next contract wont be anywhere near 7.5M after 2 more seasons.

Anisimov has more upside than Dubinsky. IMO.

But they're equally as valuable. Different kinds of players.

Dubinsky is better than what his numbers suggest this season.

Rupp-Boyle-Prust

If Kreider lives up to his potential we have 6 great top 6 players with quite possibly one of the best 4 lines in all of hockey. Then our third line will be young, home grown, and exciting. Make it happen Glen.
Kreider will be a Boston Bruin. Book it.

Well I didn't think this was thread worthy and I figured this would be the best place to throw it out there.....it's really nice just to be here in this position. Nash or no Nash. Cup or no Cup. And I really feel that we're only gonna grow and get better in coming years.

I just think it comes down to what helps the tema more.

Having Gaborik on the roster and getting poached for the likes of Stepan and McD

OR

Trading Gaborik at the 2013 Entry draft clearing up 7.5 million to retain those important RFA's.

If we retain Kreider and Miller, we should be better equipped to move Gaborik's offense. It will also allow us to replenish the lost assets in gettign Nash (finger crossed that it happens)

When he signs with the Rangers in a few months will you stop? Or are you broken and this will go on forever?

I agree. Its a great feeling to have a winning club, with a bright future. We are still one of the youngest teams in the league. Lots of growth still to do for a lot of our players.

Drafting well pays off.

None whatsoever. Reading this board without actually watching this team, one would get the impression that Dubi is NY's version of Lukic with a lesser scoring touch. If only.

The more I think about it, the more im warming up to the idea of getting Nash. Obviously without giving up TOO much, but having this guy on the team would help alot.

We'd have 2 gamebreakers on the team, the top checking line/top defence can only match up against one of them a game (assuming the likely scenario that they would on separate lines) opening up even more scoring chances for the other. Nash would help Gaborik without even being on his line or vice versa.

"Sources say Howson’s asking price from every team in the Nash talks is non-negotiable (at the moment) and gigantic in nature: A No. 1 pick in 2012 NHL entry draft pick; a good player off your roster (possibly Logan Couture or Joe Pavelski in San Jose’s case); plus the No. 1 prospect in the organization."

And if not then, then right after the last semester ends before summer.

Why doesn't anyone else get this flack? Miller still walks around in Penguins clothing. And he's SIGNED with the Rangers.

Couture's a stud. I'd like to have what Howson is smoking.

Um, Logan Couture is already arguably better than Nash. I'm sure SJ is going to give him up with their best prospect and a #1 pick for a guy who makes 8 million bucks and is 5 years older than Couture. Makes perfect sense

Dubinsky + McIlrath + Thomas/Miller + 1st

Meets the requirements.

Still don't see how any team needs to go out of their way to help Columbus' situation by caving into more than that.

His defensive play is okay. I just wish there was another dimension or facet to his game that would have more of an impact out on the ice. He doesn't transport the puck well through the neutral zone and is prone to turnovers on one on one situations. You watch the way Giroux and Kovalchuk transport the puck and create offense coming over the blueline with the puck and it definitely highlights Gaborik's shortcomings in that aspect of his game. If he was stronger defensively it might mitigate those circumstances in my opinion. If Gaborik's not finding openings in a game (and hitting the net) or his linemates aren't getting him the puck when he is open, it can significantly nullify his impact in a game.

Damn that bandwagonner!!

Seriously though, people should stop with all this home team talk about prospects. They're happy to be in an NHL system. That's the end of it.

Quick someone change the HF rankings so that when Howson checks them he thinks that Zucc is our top prospect.

For 99% of these guys, its their career. They're players first. Fans second.

Once in a while you get an Erixon and Wheeler.

Kreider already displayed his commitment over the summer.

Right now if I'm the Sharks I don't do Nash for Couture straight up.

Columbus has coveted Dubinsky for awhile and he's expendable.
