Great bout. Kassian used all his energy in the beginning and Thornton came back strong in the end. I actually think it was a pretty even scrap with a slight edge to Kassian

Kassian has some upper body strength, he actually pushes Thorton backwards at one point.

great tilt, i give it a draw. Kassian early and Thornton late. I am a big fan of Kassian, he is such a beast and has done well in all his scraps so far this year. hopefully he can stick around with the wild, still pretty young too at 25

Agreed. After the first 15 or so seconds the fight turned out to be a hugfest.

Good fight, Thorty has great defense. Slight edge to Kass at the beginning but Thorty had the edge at the end.

I like fighting in hockey but Kassian is the type of guy that doesn't belong in the league.....4 minutes of ice time is flat-out a joke.

Hockey players that fight are awesome....Fighters on skates is as best tangential to putting the puck in the net or keeping it out.

I disagree. Kassian did his job. Thornton was not skating around and running Wild players. Kassian even invited Thornton to dance earlier in the game and Thornton declined. Thornton respected the fact that Kassian was there.

Kassian was very valuable yesterday, 4 minutes or not.

yea good point, Thornton usually is out there to take runs at players. that's the kind of player he is...

What?

Draw, and a terrific fight. One worth watching a few times. Kassian at first, Thornton evened it out as it went on. Kassian is one big dude.

Kassian won it, but if the fight went any longer it obviously would be Thornton winning here. But I really like Kassian and I'm liking what I'm seeing from him this year, let's hope he keeps up the good work!

incredible respect for shawn thornton, especially when you think of how far he's come. when he first started playing pro hockey with the st.john's maple leafs as a 20-year-old, he was terrible. he could fight a little, but he couldn't skate or play hockey at all.

now he has fought and continues to fight all the heavyweights in the nhl, he's worked so incredibly hard to turn himself into a legitmate nhl skater/player, and he has two stanley cup rings. amazing.

Wrong. Kassian at the start of the fight, but then Thornton comes on strong. No easy win for anyone, a draw at best.

solid fight, not really a clear winner, both fought hard, call it a draw
