Damn I had a feeling he would be claimed, he is a good role player and a great AHL player and leader. He played a good grind game but he hands are better suited for the AHL. Would have loved to have him for Bridgeports playoff run.
My issue is not that Wallace is being waived. My issue is that you could easily make the case that Wallace has been more effective in his role than two other guys on our roster who we brought in on purpose at the NHL level earning NHL dollars. Wallace came in and played the 4th line grinding role just fine. I never saw him let up in the effort department. I also saw him try a few things with the puck that 4th liners don't tend to do. Of course, he did some of that with Pandolfo at center (who is basically a black hole for offense.)
Also, while we're at it, can we get Ullstrom back up here? Put him with Bailey and Martin. Have a decent 3rd line again. Keep Reasoner, Rolston and Pandolfo on the 4th line and play them minimal minutes (if we're forced to keep that **** together.) *GASP* We could also trying playing Nino on a line with some offense to it instead. I know it's such an unreasonable thing to try because our 5-on-5 offense has been on fire for so long now...
Bringing up Ullstrom wouldn't fix most of our problems, but it should earn us a bit more puck possession time. Ullstrom also was productive in very limited ice. That should mean something I would hope. We'd still have a terrible mixture at forward overall, but it would be a little bit better. We have far too many players that can defuse an offensive effort all by themselves who are weak against physically strong teams. That'll take time to fix.
I really, really, really hope this means that Hamonic is back. It's hard to tell whether our offense or defense sucks more right now. Hamonic helps us get the puck back more often and transition it.
It's painful how much we're relying on a 21 year old.
Scratch that, it's painful how much we're relying on TWO 21 year olds. GET THESE KIDS SOME REAL ****ING HELP!!! FOR THE LOVE OF ****ING GOD!!!

I'm surprised a player like Wallace got claimed, but it makes sense for Tampa, they'll have a look at him, he'll fill up some space as they continue to shed players off their NHL roster before the deadline.
I actually don't want Wallace to disturb the chemistry in Bridgeport. I'm a big fan of Kael Moullierat and Scott Howes. Howes hasn't really been producing much lately. However, Moullierat and Howes are versatile because they provide grit and would work nicely on the 3rd line. It's been quite the "feel good" story to see all of these PTO players contribute so much to this run.
looks like you were granted your wish from the hockey fairys
Nasty Nate Thompson wouldn't hurt. He's def an upgrade from our entire 4th line, plays with heart and fights. But Brewer would be nice to have on our D-line
Yup... Yzerman is a heralded wizard and Snow's a goofball, ex-goalie nepotism hire. And who is dining on whose leftover scraps?
Not that the meal was very good to begin with, mind you...
There are very few players that I respected and admired more than Steve Yzerman. As a GM though, it annoys me that he's getting praised for pulling a tank-a-thon and he's 'one of the best and brightest young GM's in the game' according to some of the hockey analysts. That is a complete joke.
Diving in the dumpster for ex-Islanders and doing virtually nothing as the Lightning have underperformed all season with names such as Stamkos, St. Louis, Lecavalier. That's inexcusable and he should be held accountable for this poor season. Of course he won't because no one will dare bash him.
Sorry for the rant, but this is a steaming pile. Stevie Y. has shown me absolutely nothing to warrant any praise for his work as a GM.

I agree. Also how can guys like Stewart and Brule or Hamil pass thru waivers but Wallace get claimed? Tampa doesn't have a Wallace type player in the AHL to call up? I can hardly ever figure out what GM's are doing/thinking with the waiver wire?
