The last time there was a Conservative Government ....

The Habs were a two-time Championship team and a perennial Cup contender during the entire Mulroney era. It's funny that when the PCs took power in 1984, we were pretty much in the same boat as we are today.

Things have gone downhill ever since October 1993 when the Liberals took power. Hopefully this is some more positive Karma going forward.

Uhhhh what?

They missed the playoffs ZERO times from 1984-1985 all the way to 1993-1994.

Their first playoff miss came in 94-95, when a Liberal Government was in power.

Check for yourself.

The Devils and Red Wings slipped thourgh the playoffs a few times as well in the last 10 years. That didn't take away their status as perennial Cup Contenders.

As a Bruins fan I will gladly accept this new karma. Think 1988-1992.

more like 2-3 years i'd say. The Liberals are not anywhere near ready for another election, neither is the Bloc, who I presume are quite happy about their 51 seats and don't want to risk 'em just yet
