Time might indeed be the fourth dimension, since humans fail to recognize it when doing analysis.

To the point:
Check out his current pace and his production from last season. This is about as close as you can get to the "current" Alex Ovechkin, and the "current" OV is a 30 goal scorer.

Price is totally replaceable. Ovie is Ovie.

Seriously I don't know what's wrong with this guy. I've seen him play quite a bit this season and he's a shadow of his former self. He has a good game here or there but he's not the dominant player he once was.

He used to be able to beat players to the outside. Yes, it was predictable but he was still successful at it. Now he seems to have lost that extra gear he used to have. I hope he turns it around soon because when he's on, he is just so awesome to watch.

Party ! Party ! Party !

The guy is spending way too much energy away from the ice.

Price for Ovechkin any day of the week ... I'd rather pay 7 mil a year for an Elite Winger than for a goaltender

We don't need a goaltender anyway. We can't score any goals.

Budaj is good enough. We should have Huet back.

Ovechkin would just be a rougher, more gifted Kovalev.

I covet Backstrom, since he'd probably make Patches a 35-40 goal scorer and isn't so...Ovechkin-y.

I would offer Price+Paciorretty+ 2 first rounders for him (and I'm the biggest Price and Patches fan) for Ovie and Vokoun. You give whatever it takes to get him, too big of a superstar not to try.

You read part of it right and failed to grasp the rest of it. It's not Subban alone that people do not want to trade, it is the entire package, including Subban, that would be needed to get him.

In other words, as mentioned a few times before, the asking price (i.e package of players/picks/prospects needed) would be too high.

What he said, except for the kitties part.

Washington would be blowing it up and admitting defeat.

It would take our 1st rnder for the next 3 years, plus Tinordi/Gallagher/Beaulieau.

Gomez has to go the other way.

We need a couple lower round draft picks. So other prospects would be going too.

Ovie would love the action here, but if he played like he is now we'd be screwed.
