Well, so what? Won't all the teams in the playoff hunt need a similar record? Really, the Flames only need to have one more point than LA and keep pace with Dallas/Colorado down the stretch. 91-92 points could do it.

Playing Phoenix & Dallas three more times certainly helps - those games will determine the Flames' outcome more than anything else.

I still fail to see how that is funny? Unless your not a Flames fan that is.

I hate the situation we're always in. Realistically we won't get into the playoffs but we're not so far from it that we're going to sell. I can almost guarantee that Feaster is going to keep someone like Sarich because of our injuries and according to management "we're looking to make the playoffs"

The difference this year is we are actually only one or two points out. Last year, we were still making our push, and were about 8-11 points out still. That 7-9 point difference is huge.

last year at the deadline we were in 6th or 7th, but the race was very tight and everyone had games in hand on us and we couldn't win any tie breakers. This year we haven't played a bunch more games and we actually hold the tie breaker over the Kings

Yup. For the first time since I can remember, we have games in hand over other teams instead of it being the other way around. We have a game in hand on LA and Colorado, have played the same number of games as Dallas, Phoenix, and Anaheim, and only Minnesota has a game in hand over us.

Regardless of the standings or points, the situation this year feels eerily similiar to last year's. We had a terrible stretch of games in an early month both this year & last, and then went on a good stretch of wins just before the deadline. We have a similiar cap situation too if I recall.

Everybody, including most fans, predicted us being 2-4 points out of a playoff spot with a 9th to 11th finish. We haven't really proven otherwise that we're any different this year. If we were to finish with 4 more points this year, we need to make some changes to our roster. We need to be better at faceoffs, and we need secondary scoring. We obviously need to be healthy too.
