Nash Rumors Part VI: Carter to LA; Nash next to move?

Quote:
And what about Rick Nash? The Sharks wonít admit it, but sources confirm to ESPN.com theyíve had a few chats with the Columbus Blue Jackets regarding their for-sale captain. Nash has San Jose high on his list of destinations because he played in Davos, Switzerland, with Thornton during the lockout season.

Itís believed the opening demand from the Jackets began with Sharks center Logan Couture. And that sound you heard was the Sharks hanging up the phone. There is absolutely zero chance the Sharks would trade Couture. Iím not even sure theyíd want to trade Couture for Nash one-for-one, let alone make him part of a package.

And so, unless the Jacketsí demands dramatically lower over the next few days, it seems like Nash is either Broadway-bound, L.A.-bound or stuck in Columbus for the rest of the season.

Torts is blunt, but maybe he's trying to light a fire under their rears.

It's because he's not Rex Ryan.

Thanks for ruining the party, Torts.

He's obviously saying it so that everyone else underestimates the Rangers. We then go on a 16-0 sweep in the playoffs.

Or maybe he's saying they aren't ready to win a cup "right now". There's still a quarter of the season left and this team has more than one area in need of improvement. I agree with what he said.

Torts doesn't want Kreider traded. Big kid with lots of speed the perfect player in today's NHL.

Torts also didn't think the Lighting were ready to win it all and they did.

Torts is worried about the first shift tomorrow night at the Island.

Tortorella has been saying that kind of thing all year. We have less talent. We're not a Cup contender. His bull** comment in response to Dolan. Everything the man says is planned out on the psychological bent. I wouldn't read too much into it.

He's not going to the Sharks. The reporter just assumes since he played with Thornton at the olympics that Nash put the Sharks on his list.

He is not going to the west coast.

Its Rangers or nothing and he stays.

I suppose we should be thanking Tortorella. He just saved us all a lot of money on playoff tickets. Time to start saving for next year!

Now, I didnt listen to it, but on www.snyrangersblog.com/ it gives a recap of the whole thing, and I didnt see where he says we cant win it this year.

The closest thing to that was "Torts says that the Rangers still need work to do and still need to go through the process and he isnít sure that the Rangers are there yet. "

Yeaaaa buddy.

Interesting comment by Torts on 1050. Probably the old Herb Brooks strategy.

We had this conversation in an earlier Nash thread, but that is exactly why Nash won't be a NY Ranger. He isn't image-conscious enough.

Man, this thread has slowed down. The last thread I'd finish reading it and 10 more posts would pop up, now it's 1.

Nash uses his size to shield the puck , dangle guys , deke goalies , beat guys one on one and get to loose pucks in The crease . He's not Milan Lucic or David Backes he's a skill player . All those shot passes and feeds that Richards tries and makes with dwarves like CALLY and Hags get put bar down by a guy like Nash .

When he's on his game, he's reminiscent of Malkin. Obviously he's not as good...but similar.
