Couturier. There is a vast difference between LA's first and Columbus' first. Seems fair value. Imagine if we got Couturier, Voracek, and a 3rd for Johnson and our first this year. I would think that is slight overpayment on the Jackets side. Carter is a proven goal scorer and on a cheap deal. Fun fact: Carter right now is on pace for more goals (23) than any King (Kopitar, 22) is currently on pace for, all while missing 22 games and on the worst team in the league...
They didn't giveup Couturier, it was 8th overall and PHI lucked out. No one expected him to fall that far. LA misses the playoffs and the pick is still going to be a quality asset. I don't like it at all if there is any truth to it...
Please go through. PLEASE! This is what I want I will it to happen!
"It has not been a good day. I lost my glasses early this morning and I had to go buy a pair of 79 dollar reading glasses today. 79 bucks. You can literally get them at Costco, three-for-20." - Darryl Sutter's response to going up 2-0 in the series.
Lombardi can't trade Bernier, any smart hockey fan knows that. That is his leverage for Quick negotiations starting July 1st. Or else Quick can walk next year or demand a lot of money knowing the Kings don't have anyone to fall back on.
First Simmonds, now Johnson, another LA grown player with Kings tattooed on his butt out the window for ANOTHER Flyer.
I don't entirely disagree with your sentiment, but what else can we do? We NEED a player like Carter, we're not meeting CBJ's demands for Nash, and PMD is our organizational strength. The team as-is will likely miss the playoffs and can score about as well as Napoleon Dynamite. Something needs to happen to shake up the stagnancy.
