Isn't that everything you want from a coach?
Brian Kilrea is the king of coaches at Junior level.... He lasted about a year at NHL level.

New Jersey now has 74 points. That's as much as the Boston Bruins. Wow.

absolutely support that.

much rather pay Hamrlik 3.5M$ next year to play a bottom pairing role/minutes, then pay Kaberle 4.25M$ to play bottom pairing minutes for the next two, even if it means giving up the precious assists Kaberle racks up in his PP heavy 16min/game.

I'd do it even straight, 1-for-1.

@TSNBobMcKenzie: LAK and CBJ are working hard to get a Jeff Carter trade done -- Jack Johnson's name featured prominently as well -- but told not done. Yet.

Can't wait for the uproar when he goes on to score PPG in his first 5 games, then the silence when he slows back down to normal levels.

If they aren't confident in giving Kaberle more ice time, and if Markov is close to returning I'd consider that too, and this from someone who had no problem with them letting Hamrlik go. 1 year less than Kaberle for less cap hit, is the lesser of two evils I'd say.

Kilrea didn't last because he couldn't separate himself from the players while management wanted a coach who did what they wanted and since they sign the checks.

Ducks come right back to tie it.

It's tough to cheer against Koivu, especially for Carolina, but come on Canes.

I wonder if Carter and Richards will sing and dance to this song when they meet in the Kings dressing room for the first time..

Mckenzie's said a bunch of times that Dustin Brown is in play. Would love that guy, but it'd be an insane price to pay.

The length is iffy, but the cap hit isn't. We have(by we I mean the league) top 6 wingers making 4.5 million a year. Carter is more than just your average top 6 winger.

It only took 6 months for Carter's contract to go from being a steal to "worst in the league". The same people who say it's a terrible contract will be the same ones who will say it's a steal when he goes back to potting 35-40 a year.

I was somewhat expecting a little bigger return to CBJ but usually the price isn't nearly as big as many around here make it out to be..

He can go on a tear for 2-3 years and still make that contract look bad. 10 years is a very long time.
