I'm stoked. Been a Jack Johnson fan for years and always wished he would somehow end up on the CBJ.

Got rid of Carter, saved some cash, and got a long term defenseman who will be a mainstay for years.

I like it.

News on twitter is that for Nash, the Jackets want a 1st to be included so if you guys can get that 1st and if its actually a 1st this yr move those 2 1st maybe with edmonton or something for another top 10 and then flop that top 10 with 2 2nds for 2nd overall and there u go..

I can live with this as long as Brass is now in the plans for the future. Otherwise we have no ****ing centers to speak of.

I like Johnson already - Porty just tweeted a quite from Johnson saying he's excited to go to a team that wants him and a great sports city. No sulking in a beach house for him upon learning he's coming to the 'Bus.

Or it could be used to move up next year. Or we could still use whichever pick we have to move up this year. The point is we get to choose when to use the pick which means we will most likely get the higher of the 2 possible picks.

Which means we can use it this year if there is a player we like where they are picking. If not, we can just use it next year.

The 1st-rd pick in Carter deal is conditional: If Kings miss playoffs this year, pick goes to 2013. If Kings make it, CBJ choose '12 or '13

We don't stereotype Columbus, OH... you'd be wise not to characterize us this way either.

You guys got a great player. This trade works for both teams.

Odd. He'll be wearing 7. I wonder how often the outgoing and incoming players have worn the same number.

Rangers fan here, obviously monitoring the Nash situation. Great deal for you guys. Johnson will flourish now that he's out from under Doughty's shadow. He's a franchise-level d-man now that he has the opportunity. And from what I understand, Carter comes with a lot of attitude baggage. The 1st rounder is obviously pretty sweet too. But yeah, Johnson goes a long way toward improving your defense.

Kings Fan Here

Just wanted to say it is hard to see JJ go. Been defending him for along time on HFBoards.

He's a good add and I imagine will be your best Dman instantly. He makes bone head plays but he has gotten better every year. Hope that the shackles are lifted and he can really show his offensive skills.

Guy has always shown good character, get used to him being much maligned by ignorant posters.

One story I like is that he never leaves his spot on the ice until after the color guard has completely finished and leaves the ice.

If there's one word Johnson uses to describe himself its "Proud."

You won't get sulking out of him, you'll get a competitive hard-working player with some pretty good skills. Like other kings fans have said, if you slap a letter on him and put him in a leadership role you'll be very happy with him. Whether he wanted to be traded to Columbus or not, the minute he touches down in Ohio he'll be proud to be a member of the Blue Jackets and will strive to be your best defensemen, and best player.

Hey Howson! It's 9:08 and your little presser hasn't started! I guess you have to be fashionably late. I'm going to call you Kim Kardashian now.

Another obvious move to save money for ownership, right Robert? Only need to switch some nameplates, not order entire new sweaters.

Wow, Howson and McConnell are really crafty devils.

Okay. Thanks. If true, that makes more sense. I am still happy either way. We get a first round pick and we can trade it to move up this year or next year. Plus, we will probably get a first round pick if we trade Nash. It might be better to have 2 first round picks this year and 2 first round picks next year instead of 3 this year and 1 next year.

I like this deal a lot for CBJ. Carter wasn't happy there, Johnson was never appreciated in LA with Doughty there and he'll be a very good top pairing guy for you guys. Good move, congrats.

Competitive and hard-working?? We're not really used to those type of players. Change is good.

carter is what we once called a tool. not to mention he was the most annoying person ever at the shore. If you are a wealthy athlete at least act like you are the man at the beach bars if you cant on the ice.

I am happy for you guys.

If it is this years, we could use it and the pick for Nash, hypothetically and the 2nd from Phoenix to get a second 1st in the top 5 potentially.

If LA misses playoffs it is next years pick regardless.
