This. Brown's $3.125m cap hit would fit right in with our current lineup without even impacting the retention of the core. We wouldn't even need to move Dubinsky's cap hit.

And what would the points be if we don't trade Gabby? You have to compare Nash and Gabby to Nash and Brown, not Dubi and Gabby to Nash and Brown. We can just trade for Nash and keep Gabby too you know.

Do you think the Rangers are pretending to lick their chops at Brown to put pressure on Columbus? Although Brown would be a nice player to go after. We don't have to teach that guy how we play.

A line with Dustin Brown & Callahan would be a nightmare to play against physically. Frankly, you may as well get Ott too just for entertainment...

Early precincts reporting - TOR BUF PHI NYR interest in Dustin Brown.

Nash over Brown every day of the week. We need gamebreaking skill, not another 2nd line grinder.
Brown would likely be the 3rd highest goal scorer on this squad. lol

Does anyone think Nash would renegotiate upon coming here?

Sather could give him more money and take on a lesser cap hit with another Richards-esque contract.

I agree with your first statement. Makes way too much sense and is a typical Sather tactic.

There is no correlation between the players. You're statement has so many flaws to point out, that I won't even bother pointing out.

If you could acquire Ott & Brown for the same price as just Nash alone, who do you take?

His 28 goals last year would've been #1 on our team. He's probably better known for his relentlessly punishing play, but he can find the back of the net, too.

Assuming the cost of Brown was the 1st + prospect, I'd acquire Brown and save the other assets. Don't have any interest in Ott.

Contracts are not allowed to be re-negotiated.

Contracts cannot be renegotiated under the current CBA.
