And once again, why the hell does it have to be Gabby Dubi or Nash Brown? Why can't we trade for Nash, and not get rid of Gabby? What's THEIR point total? No need to check that's 92 points. Looks like your theory failed.

It's better than the Schenn, Simmonds and a 1st proposal. THAT was ridiculous.

Man I'd take him in heart beat...such a physical player, also is on pace to have more points than Dubinsky.

Yeah, he's exactly the kind of player that would help us with our offensive disabilities while at the same time allowing us to maintain cap flexibility. Obviously he's due a raise next summer, but how much is he going to get? I'd rather pay him 5M/year for 28g than Nash 7.8M/year for 38.

This is what I'm thinking, or maybe hoping.

I want a game-changer. I love Brown as a player, but he's not close to Nash in this department.

because gabby does not fit the system, he hasnt helped the power play at all, he is made of glass and you dont need a 40 goal score to win the cup, you need a team, not a hired gun.

Brown is under contract until the 2013-2014 season, so you wouldn't need to give him a raise for two more seasons, not next summer.

You are right. Gabby's team leading 27 goals were complete wash and his lack of injury this year greatly decreases his value to an otherwise offensively anemic team.

id love to have dustin brown on this team, as a 3rd liner...

problem is, who r u gonna trade for him? i wouldnt give up any of our big prospects, and i wouldnt give up anyone from our top 6 for him.

i mean, i guess i could do AA+ for Brown...

Stop it with your numbers rookie. Hasn't Money Ball thought you a thing.. The rangers have great chemistry, Gaborik is our best player and having a great year... where number 1 in the conference why would we ruin this team? **** is wrong with you?

Ironic that you say that, especially since you're going directly off the stat sheet.

Yeah I'd rather have Nash and Brown over Gaborik and Dubinsky, but there is a minimal possiblity that they are magically packaged in a 3-way deal.

Hypothetically speaking, what do you think is a reasonable offer for Nash/Brown?

Gaborik for Brown straight up? Alright.

Dubinsky for Nash? You're gonna need to add much, much more to get him.

The + that we need to add for Nash is what makes your argument flawed.

Scores, backchecks, even blocks shots...doesn't fit the system?

You need goals to win games, and no one else seems inclined to do it.

Right, even better. I misread his contract info. Now I'm doubly in favor of going after Brown over Nash. This post season plus two more seasons for 3.1M/year??? Seems like a no-brainer to me.

If Brown gets dealt I would guess Toronto. Does Toronto still need a goaltender or has Reimer or the Monster stepped up?

I'm not so sure about that. Would you consider Callahan a game-changer? Brown might not do it always via goal scoring, but he brings so much more than just goals.

Gaborik has been great in our system. He is not week on the boards, makes good plays and is very sound defensively.
I don't agree he is made of glass. Ever since his hip surgery, he has been way better...

why do the rangers (in 1st) need a game breaker? they need a little more scoring punch and a better powerplay. brown helps with both for $4.6 mill less.

He hasn't gotten injured in 2 of the 3 years with us, give me a break with this made of glass ********. He has 27 goals, good for 9th in the league, even strength goals count too. We don't need a 40 goal scorer? We need goal scoring this team severely lacks in that department. In order to be a contender you need to be good in offense, defense, and goaltending. This team is lacking offense, getting rid of our best forward will not help.
