Stabbed in the back may have been a harsh words. And I said in another post that it's a business, and I am fine with that. Just shut up about tattoos and cultures, how can you defend someone who preaches tattoos and culture and makes moves like this.

I just don't want to ever hear those words again, because certainly Jeff Carter is not someone you think of as a character player or a culture changer.

I thought it was time to man up and get good players here, regardless. We have a team full of "good guys" and it has gotten us hanging onto a playoff spot by a thread.

We should keep this as a positive thread about JJ, not bickering about JC before he even gets here.

if its any consolation carter barely tried in cbus and is on a 30 goal pace. wouldn't be surprised to see 40+ next year from him. amazing shot, but he just didn't try after the trade- carter really hasn't lost anything from when he was in philly.

glad to hear about johnson's work ethic and character- exactly what we needed. hope he can be a leader in columbus

I'm still going to collect Jack's hockey cards, especially his autographs...one of the nicest sigs in the game.

Also, this may be his chance to emerge as the #1 dman he could be. You know CBJ will have no problem letting him play first pairing, no matter his +/-...be the Shea Weber of Columbus.

I was recalling just now that feeling when we had first gotten JMFJ from Carolina, half a decade back...

Best of luck to JJ in CBJ.

He's got a great blog on his website if you guys aren't familiar with it!

From a hockey standpoint, I'm happy. JJ's defensive lapses bothered me more than anything, and I think it's clear that Carter is the better player.

But from a character standpoint, I'm dissappointed. I didn't care much for Carter's pouting after he got traded to CBJ. In fact, it's pretty scary that a pro would stoop to those kind of levels. Also, JJ seemed to be a good teammate, and DL signed him long term, etc.

I remember being real pumped after seeing this video way back: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gx33oPZpf0k

Though it seems we never got JMFJ, the guy who could punish you offensively and defensively. Just the guy who would miss defensive assignments and then miss high with his slapshots.

Best of luck.

This move is good for Jack. He is going to score alot of points for Columbus, gain greater value and get traded to a good team. We appreaciate your effort you put in for the Kings.

Everyone knows it's a business, but the problem is that Lombardi prattles on and on about "the tattoo" and has screwed every guy who's shown it with the exception of Brown. It's fine if everyone treats it like a business, but our GM needs to shut up about loyalty, becasue he's shown none.

Anyway, good luck getting out of Columbus as fast as you can Jack, you're a winner and you deserve to play on a good team. You'll be missed.

You know what I just realized? JJ has been involved in the same trade twice in his career already. He was traded to a team in year 1 of a rebuild (ok, that is an opinion, who knows, what else they do). He knows what the team went through since that year 1 so I imagine he doesn't like it that much. He probably deserves to play on a better team. On the other hand, he will be one of the leaders over there.

I have not seen enough of Jeff Carter. I know he's a perennial 92-goal scorer, but what kind of player is he? Sniper? Playmaker? Is he a good fit for a Kopitar line?

I'll miss Jack. Seemed like a true professional. He'll like the lamp in Columbus. Hopefully he gets his defensive game together. Thanks for everything JMFJ.

Sniper that also misses a lot. He shoots the puck...a lot, and scores a lot. Have no idea if he'd fit with Kopitar. Maybe. Things are going to get interesting.

3 perennial goal scorer? Man, Dean took the Jackets to the cleaners.

Didn't you say something similar to that when we got Richards?

FWIW, as much as I like this trade, I don't think it's at all lopsided.

No no no. He said 3 goal scorer, obviously I was being sarcastic.

Dammit Dean...trade one of the players that actually gave a crap about playing in LA and seeing the franchise succeed.

Get rid of Brown for cripes sake.

Jack i feel incredible bad for you.

Always been one of my favorites.
And being punished with Columbus has nothing to do with you........

I hope it will be worth it.

Wait how does Brown not give a crap about playing here or want to see the franchise succeed?

But I agree Jack did and it's a shame. I'll miss you JJ.

good luck in your future. You were always one of my favorite. If the rest of the team had your heart, drive, and loyalty we would be a lot higher in the standings.

I will miss you so much Jack. Just like Herby, I am a huge Kings and U of Michigan fan and so obviously I became a big fan even before you were traded to LA. People loved to hate you but you were always such a great King. Consistent effort and a great guy. Took the time to stop and sign for me in Calgary last year and pose for a picture. Hopefully your Ferrari can handle Ohio's weather.

Farewell, sweet prince.
