Methot....Why? I'm sorry, I don't think he is a fit at 3M per season.

Interesting, I guess we're trying to have every player from the London Knights Memorial Cup team that has played at the pro level at one time or another, Corey Perry coming up next?

Methot seems like a nice steady stay at home defenceman (he even has multiple + seasons on the +/- ledger on the Jackets) but I dunno... I kind of want puck movers.

Good defensive D-man who is best suited for a 4-6 position in a top six. Gets around 5-17 points a season.

I kind of hope we get him re-signed tomorrow. My dad is a huge fan and whenever we talk hockey he's always ranting about how the Oilers will regret it if he's healthy and they trade him.

I feel terrible for the kid. Gotta think Omark is likely coming up. Either way I like Penner as an Oiler and I can't wait to be rid of Barker. I bet DL would move him for peanuts. Heck he might even take Barker.

He'll answer the bell, but you don't want Brown fighting. He's not good at it.

I'd gladly take a player who's going to target everyone on the ice and finish them, regardless if he'll answer the bell afterwards. Who fought Hartnell tonight? Time to start giving instead of receiving.
I have no problem with Brown's credential on the surface and i would love a winger like that just like you, but i'm simply pointing out what i've read from an LA script or blogger approx a month ago. And that is way before any Dustin Brown was rumored to be available. If i could find it, I would post it but i just couldn't find it now.

Also i am pointing out an obviously question which I like to see some input... which is why a playoff team, up and coming team with young stars like Quick, Kopitar & Doughty, considered a 2nd tier contender in the west, all of a sudden want to or rumored to be trading their long time captain.

Wouldn't a move like that destabilize the team in the midst of a playoff fight? If he is fulfilling his duty, why in world they want to trade him? That's why i'm hoping for someone to confirm what i've read.

Here's from TSNBobMcKenzie: We'll talk tomorrow about the "why" of Kings considering a regime/culture change by possibly moving their captain.

We don't need a Methot with Smid's emergence this year. Get some puck movers.

Methot was seeing the toughest competition for 2 seasons prior to this one (courtesy behindthenet).

Last week Spector seemed confident that Barker would draw interest at the deadline but after his rough week... I dunno. I think that Mr. Barker is DOA.

Good to see tambo try to talk to hemsky. This either ends in a contract or he's done here

I want to keep him for a selfish reason - otherwise I'll have to watch double the games next year. I don't want to do that.

Yeah Im not sure. Perhaps Richards learned something in Philly about staging a coup?

If LA is going to establish non-dry island, they don't want someone on the team who can't drink.

Count me in on the re-sign Hemsky wagon. The only named jersey I have is Hemsky and I have been wearing it a lot lately because I fear it will lose it's value soon.

For a second I thought you were referring to a religious thing. But then it clicked.

You know what, that crossed my mine too!

However, Dustin Brown is super attractive unless there is something seriously wrong with his character. It's almost like too good to be true thing. Too good a player and a captain to be available at this time of the year.

He would be a huge upgrade to our fwd group, if he is not a bad apple. A physical fwd and an agitator cross with scoring touch, that's a very rare combo there.

I initially figured it was Danneel Harris.

Shame on me. I have now not only made the irrevocable error of mistaking a British bombshell for a Louisiana hoe, but I have also admitted implicitly to watching One Tree Hill on a public internet forum.

EDIT: After re-reading my post, I have just realized that the admission is now explicit.

Cloned has the embargo on all things One Tree Hill. You'll have to take up complaints with her. Erm, him.

... her.

That Hemsky thread on the rumour board is a trainwreck.
