Glen MURRAY. Sidney CROSBY would thrive with a sniper like MURRAY on his wing. With PALLFY retired, the pens have the $$$ to afford MURRAY and he not only would help tap CROSBY's enomous playmaking ability but he would be a great mentor considering they are from the same relative area in Nova Scotia (CROSBY-Cole Harbour/MURRAY-Bridgewater).

I can see MURRAY getting back to 40 goal range on CROSBY's wing, maybe even 50 if they develop the chemistry that I think they can.

The Bruins have nobody that is a pure set up guy since THORNTON was traded so MURRAY is not condusive the Bruins system right now. Ryan MALONE is reportedly available...MURRAY and SLEGR for MALONE and a second rounder?

I don't want Slegr, we already have enough useless offensively minded d-men here but i'd do Murray for Malone and maybe a 3rd.

Is this just swapping former players for each other?

I'd do Murray for Gonchar obviously, but I wouldn't deal Malone for Murray. Right now, Malone has just as much goal-scoring potential than Murray. And he's a better all-around player than Murray.

I think there are going to be better players available both on the trade and free agent markets than Glen Murray.

Marian Gaborik immediately springs to mind.

Just toss this out there for discussion, what about gonchar for someone like marty lapointe. Seems like he'd be a nice tough guy to skate with sid, but who can play a little too, unlike Soruvy who is not tough and cannot play well. Yes he is overpaid but so is Gonchar and we're not going to be able to move gonchar's salary without taking another bad contract back or giving up a prospect.

Gaborik would cost the Pens Malone, another good player (NOT Gonchar, Recchi, Leclair) and a pick at the very least.

I'm still not sure about the idea of giving up one of our defensemen for a forward,I'd rather get back another d-man in return since we still need a little help back there. Lapointe was awesome when he was in Detroit, especially when they played Colorado. Seems like he isn't too happy in Chicago and definitely still has that edge to his game, but I'm not really too sure how his production is this season. Like I said,I'd rather see a decent d-man coming back in any kind of deal, but I guess any good player would be nice too.

I'd take Murray, but not at the expense of Malone.

You guys can always take Gonchar back..

or

Tarnstrom, Roy

For

Murray

With loss of Orr, Roy brings toughness department back too your team. And Tarnstrom another puck moving defencemen, who could use a change of scenery.

How about Niko Dimitrakos?
He's been a healthy scratch for San Jose lately...

He is a restricted free agent after this season so I guess that's something.
