I want them to tank at this point for a better draft pick, move away all expendable/****** players, and hope we can retool in the offseason and not be an embarrassment in the worst division in the league.
Jesus, it's not even remotely close to that bad. The Caps aren't even in the conversation for the laughingstock of pro sports.
Here, here! We're three points out of a playoff spot (and first place in our division). We're playing like garbage, but all this "time to wrap up the season and hope we qualify for some lottery picks" stuff is ********.
I certainly wouldn't bet on it, but there's still a small chance this team gets some lucky goals, puts up some wins at home, drags out a few OTL's on the road, and sneaks into a playoff spot. And after that, well, it's not like we were lights-out playoff performers the past few years either.
Shorter version: Plenty of talent on this team to sneak into the playoffs, even if a Wideman or a Hamrlik is traded.
Well I always think this **** season can't get worse, right now the Caps are the laughingstock of pro sports.
Can it get worse than this?
Oh cheer up. Maybe just this week's flavor. Not long ago it was the Habs that were the laughing stock but they've exhausted all possibilities to be that anymore this year............I think. The Caps are the new flavor in town and yes I think it could get worse.
George McPhee....The Teflon GM. 15 years of failure and counting....
6 - Number of playoff series the Capitals have won since George McPhee took over as General Manager in 1997 (which makes him the third-longest-tenured GM in the League), three of which came in McPhee's first season on the job.
