The one thing I can respect about Garth is he doesn't get ripped off

Because Leafs don't need Nabokov more than Isles need Aulie.

And the Islanders are not going to give up someone they want to stay, for nothing.

Leafs are reportedly interested in everyone.. They should just rebuild properly kinda like Ottawa is doing let the kids play and add when necessary. Now isn't the time to trade away kids for vets.

Komisarek makes sense in a deal for Nabokov. Both teams meet a need, the Isles get a defensive D that hits hard and blocks a lot of shots and the Leafs get short-term relief in goal.

Why would they want him to stay? They're a young team, why would they want an aging goalie? Also, didn't Nabakov refuse to play for them before?

He may be a need but this is the Islanders bud, they are not paying Komi 3 mil or whatever he's making for the next two years to get the type of production he puts out now a days

Kamisarek is horrible, if he didn't have such a big contact, he'd most likely be waived. Islanders need a more useful player to move Nabokov, imo.

Because even with STEVE ******* STAOIS on our top pairing, we are still a borderline playoff team with Nabby in net and have a chance to win every single night. That's how good he is. He is worth Aulie and a 2nd

Every time the majority ( not all Leaf fans) get into a debate with us Isles fans it becomes a pissing match.

In all all honesty, I like the Isles position better provided the arena situation gets worked out. Why, look at tonight's game against the Rags. Who do the Leafs have that can match up with Cizikas? But that kills most Leaf fans because both Cizikas and Tavares are Canadian pride players.

But anybody that will argue that the Leafs situation is better than the Isles is in a dream land. The Isles arena situation aside, the Isles sucking among the worst in the NHL for the past 5 years has more than replenished their system. And even though Snow has been killed he has held on to all his picks. And truly more often than not he has done a great job.

Bottomline the Isles did not trade 2 high 1st rounders for a top 6 player.

What happened to goaltending in Toronto? I read all over these boards that James Reimer was the man. Before that, it was the Monster. Is their goaltending really the problem?

I don't have any interest in Nabokov for prospects or picks. Would prefer to just continue going with Reimer/Gus. So I hope the Isles re-sign him.

Komisarek's final two years are at $3.5MM each with a Wang-cheapass cap hit of $4.5MM - perfect for the Isles.

In the discussion of what's less horrible, Komisarek at $3.5 vs. Rolston at $5MM - well, that's like choosing between Roseanne Arnold and Bea Arthur for a hot weekend.

Who knows, no goaltender has been able to do anything on this team, personally I think it has to do with Wilson, but who can really say for sure. Reimer looks great before he was concussed.

This is what I been saying since the first page

TOR may feel its more than they would like to give up, but Teams have been giving up alot this deadline and Nabbys been playing great....

Aulie is what the Isles need...Big mean nasty...He might not be top 4 ever but hes good to have in your bottom Pairing IMO snd he adds much needed size and Toughness

Remember when the Ottawa Senators developed their starting goaltender instead of trading for a pending UFA veteran?

Nabokov if traded (I'm anxious to see him play tonight and Sunday) will probably require a lot more than a simple second round pick IMO
