Great deal.
I would liek to see Greene moved in the offseason so that there is room for a young d-man.

That's because he doesn't listen to 90% of this forum.

That is just a very good cap hit. It makes him even more valuable in any kind of trading negotiations.

Superb signing. Mitchell is one of the top defensive defensemen in the game. Him and Quick have consistently been our best players this year.

The 2012-13 salary cap over the summer is rumored to be around $69M. Not sure what is to happen with the salary cap though with the CBA set to expire on September 15, 2012.

I think it's safe to say the best LA Kings this year have been Quick, Williams and Mitchell.

Im happy to have him back as well. Its guarantees stability on our defense for next year too. Since Doughty, Mitchell, Scuderi, Matt Greene, Voynov and Martinez are all under contract. With Johnson gone and possibly Mitchell leaving it would have been a tough hole.

I just wish it was 3.0 a year. But its all good whats 500,000 between friends haha

You surely meant Quick, Clifford and Mitchell? With all the fights he has had I can't see how can you leave him out of the top 3.

I thought a stats man like yourself would be harping on Williams' giveaways this season

Maybe an even more important move than the trade for Carter. Mitchell prevents more goals than $3.5M would ever buy you! Great player.

I have ZERO comprehension when tards like to suggest trading Greene and inserting a young D.

Not that Jack was the most punishing defenseman we had, but now without him Greene is really the only D that is tough around the D.

He's a badass 5/6 D and spends a ton of time on the penalty kill sacrificing his body at every turn.

The guy is a warrior and a leader on this team.

Not to pull the "I have played hockey all my life and it's clear that you haven't ever laced up a pair of rental skates so I know more than hockey than you!" card, but people who think we need to dump Greene have ZERO freakin' clue.

Greene can be frustrating but you need a physical presence back there and Greene does the job. His work on the PK shouldn't be forgotten either, blocking shots with his face and all

I would really like to see a bag of pucks come back for one of these just to send a message.... Plus, it would be fun trivia. Or maybe just a gift certificate to IHOP....
