What to do with a broken Penner?
Now hear me out, I am ready to drive the guy to the airport myself. If there is nothing out there would we be best to keep him then ti trade him to a competitor only to have him find the net again?
Trading for Carter has made me think, I know, I know.....doesn't happen much.
Penner came from a team with speed and skill and was deadly around the net either cleaning up garbage or coming in a few steps behind to get a late pass.
Richards - Carter- Penner may just work.
I hate him, I have given 2 to many chances already.........but something is telling me to put him in a position where he will succeed and he may suprise. Richards has a high IQ and is a great passer. Having a sniper with speed and a guy with size and hands as wingmen could be lethal

He's paid too much $$$ for us to wait for him to possibly come around.

Send him to Calgary. He'll be our trojan horse
Richards-Carter-Edmonton Penner would be a great line. Too late for him now I think though.

Put 'im in the brig with the captain's daughter...eh.
He'll be shipped out and score on his new team, to much gnashing of teeth. Or not. Either way, his time here is done.

Trade him immediately for anything of value.
Future considerations, a 7th round pick, Scott Wietecha, any one of those would be just fine.

Can we just get a refund? Hell, I'd jump for joy for a 2nd round pick from ANYBODY.

I feel like Tampa owes us one for the Halpern trade. Time to collect.

Penner was pretty much gone at the final buzzer of the Calgary game.

Bernier and Penner for
Brett Connolly , you say?
Quote:
Connolly is a pure offensive talent who can make plays at a high rate of speed. He can score goals as well as set them up. Connolly will have to adjust to the tighter checking, physical nature at the level of the pro game but he is an elite talent capable of dominating games. Connolly's hip injury was a big source of concern heading into the 2010 draft but a preliminary report indicated that he is recovering and was impressive during the summer prospect camp with the Lightning. He has added size to his frame since his early junior days and is much stronger on the puck in tight areas.

Edmonton owes us for this deal. Send them back Penner for a double-double. It's roll of the rim time, maybe we can get a TV out of it.

This comment by Alfredsson just about sums up Dustin Penner's performance as a King:

If he gets traded to Toronto the media will eat him alive. Is that irony? It's accountability time in LA, Penner needs to go to the highest bidder and if that isn't out there he needs to be waived/sent down. He's had his time, he hasn't produced and he's managed to turn a pretty bright NHL career early on into one of the biggest jokes in the league. I actually feel bad for the guy but he has to go to send a clear message to the King locker room.

duct tape him up, then put him on waivers.
The duct tape is to keep him from getting back to LA if he isn't claimed.
