I wasn't thrilled with the Mitchell pick. The guy has great hands, but like many of you have said, I'd rather see Dubi or Anisimov get a shot, or even Hagelin, who I think would be solid in SOs.
I'd like to see Del Zotto in the SO. He's scored pretty goals in the past, this season, etc. He's got great hands, and overall... I think he has more talent than a lot of our forwards. I'm not opposed to him trying at all. Look at Letang, he's one of the better SO specialists in the NHL and he's a defense man. Jack Johnson isn't too bad himself. I'd like to give MDZ a whirl next time around.

Ugh. Sick of Mitchell and Bickell. Our defense has been atrocious for the past few weeks, let's just call a spade a spade there. Also, get me Rick Nash.

Yes Torts! Keep benching Zuccs and Wolski for Mitchell and before that, Bickel! It's clearly working! Screw offense, WE NEED GRINDERS!!!

Seriously, did Zuccs or Wolski mess around with Torts' daughter or something? My God, cut the stubbornness, swallow your pride and put out the best players.

On a positive note, Gaborik, Stepan, and Anisimov was excellent tonight, and Staal is getting better and better. Best game yet from him.

I really don't think the loss falls on Biron this time. As far as the SO, I think we had a real chance if Richards/Mitchell weren't shooting.

Biron only let in 1 soft goal IMO.

So give the guy a god damn break. Yeah, he was responsible for the last loss IMO, but this one isn't all on him.

So many back to back's in March, Biron probably has another five starts this year, especially if we are locked into a seed come April, could see him starting two of the four April games.

i hear ya...i think wolski has had enough chances and is done as a ranger...but zuccs is much younger has only played less than half a season in the nhl last yr and this yr the first couple where the team played awful and he is not given another shot especially with our recent offensive struggles is pathetic

Good comeback after going down 2-0. Shootout was closer than I expected, tbh.

Biron's five-hole?

Humongous big.

I thought Bickel was actually pretty good tonight. Biron wasn't horrible tonight, certainly didn't lose us the game, but that 5 hole has to be corrected. However, I agree, Lundqvist has to be playing more against rivals, especially the Islanders, who look like they're playing for the Stanley Cup against us.

What a disgrace.

I am trying my damnest to no be mad and look at the positives. We still have a good lead on 2nd and NJ and its good we're struggling now and not in the playoffs

How the team battles through this rough patch will speak volumes of its make up.

The Good: Gabby...
The Bad: MDZ & his stupid ****ing penalty that lead to a goal
The Ugly: Tortarella & his unwavering stubbornness
The Unfair: Blaming this soley on Biron...I'll toss a 40% his way since his was pretty damn good in the 2nd and 3rd but obvious problem in the shootout.

Everyone notice how all of the mid range shots from inside and outside the slot were are low shots at his hole?

unfortunately these struggles would have been better coming 2 weeks ago or next week, but it's timing is awful because management may get nervous and feel a move is needed and may make a dumb move to try and help, which could backfire

There is being stubborn, and there is stupidity. You can't look at that SO lineup and not see the glaring ****ing problem.

Yeah let's trade Arty who has been infinitely better and has been making great plays ALL year. Even when he wasn't scoring.

At least New Jersey and Boston (lost in the SO) lost so we're not watching other teams gain any ground.

It's ridiculous. Hell, Torts would rather play a natural defenseman in Stu Bickel than Wolski or Zuccs. I mean, HOW?!?! WHY!?!?

I believe it was because a reporter said that some of the players didn't feel the 2-0 lead was a big problem. Or something to that effect

One of the reporters claimed that the beginning of the game didn't look as bad as it actually was...and Torts rolled his eyes and said "THATS why we're a sloppy hockey team right now...i'd like those players names...actually..."
