Do you guys think NHL gm's ever look at boards like hf?? Fan feedback?
Fan forums in general are considered to be the most radical element of a given fan base and are bad sources of information. If you remember Poile being totally flabbergasted when George Plaster asked him if Steve Sullivan or Jason Arnott might retire at a time when we were speculating similar things, that's more or less what I'm talking about.

So no, I seriously doubt they read these forums unless they need a good chuckle. Players might, but not coaches or executives. Relative to them, we're all complete ignoramuses.

Alright WFOM, since you're our "inside" source, who are we getting?

I don't really claim to be an inside source (at least, not that I recall) - I just try to pay attention and make educated guesses.

I would certainly make the play for Ribeiro if he is available. He's a great puck-handler and he plays with some attitude, which is always something this team could use. That said, I'm not sure Roy wouldn't be more suited to being a center on this team. The guy works his tail off, and even when he's not producing, he's still contributing to the team. Ribeiro, not so much. I also think concerns about Roy's size are exaggerated. He's built more like Tootoo than Sullivan, and has nearly 15 pounds on Ribeiro.

Either of those guys could really invigorate this team offensively, I just feel like Roy would be a better overall fit, where Ribeiro is a better pure talent. Trotz has very high demands of his centers defensively, and I'm not sure Ribeiro is totally up to that task.

Well I've heard from a few places on rumors that Roy is the one we really want and that we've also made some advances for AK and Grabovski lately. Though signs are starting to point to Roy right now. I haven't seen anything about Riberio outside this forum.

Why you do confident we aren't getting Roy? Sounds like we might

Is roy "no" because we aren't interested, or "no" we asked and he isn't available, or "no" we asked and the price is too high?

Of the pieces that seem to be available, Grabo seems like the most appealing to me. If he and SK74 put the past behind them, he could be dynamic in NSH.

Garbo and SK74 could be lethal together. Granted, the rumors are Grabo is expecting a big payday but if we can get him for relatively cheap we can worry about the contract later.

If NSH picked up Grabo and signs him and if Radu comes back next season then you're looking at a strong group of forwards.

Top 6:
SK74, Grabo, Radu, Erat, Fish, Wilson.

Bottom 6:
HB, Leggy, Horny, Hali, Spaling, Bourque.

That would give you three lines that can score and a fourth that would chip in more than most. That's incredible depth with firepower. I'd take it.

I think the big question with Grabovski is, does Kostitsyn hate him so much that he would spear him in the manhood during their first practice? If the answer is no, I'd say it's worth a shot, since he is a great fit for what we need; if it's yes, don't even bother.

I thought they squashed it? either way, grabs would likely take a 1st and a prospect.. dont see that happening

its going to take overpayment to land what we need.. my guesses are ak, riberio, grabs, malone, and a long shot of roy but buffalo's asking price will have to waiver a bit.. well quite a bit

Not that it means anything but Eklund has a thread title "Roy to the Preds"

So, Buffalo fans on both sites want Wilson for Roy, I don't think that's the best idea. Wilson is coming to fruition here and becoming a stud.

I highly doubt the Derek Roy gets traded because the Sabres are inching up in the playoff race and he has been the Sabre's best player over the last 2 weeks(4 goals, 5 assists +6 in the month of February). I think now would be the time to trade because is value is at it's highest. Alot of teams are interested in Roy but the 3 destinations I have heard most frequently are Chicago, Nashville and Florida. All the trades for him are centered around multiple players including a high prospect and a 1st round pick. I would say that Chicago would be the front runners for him right now in the event that he does get moved.
