No further discipline for Hartnell

Bob McKenzie just tweeted that there won't be a hearing for Hartnell regarding the kneeing penalty.
As upset as the Oilers fans (and general anti-Flyers crowd) may be, it's obviously the right call.
Not sure this even deserves a thread, but I thought I'd make one for the people that aren't twitter obsessed.

I'm kind of surprised actually, seeing as they seem to suspend based on injury and not intent. Guess that's just head shots.

Yeah he was leading with his shoulder and missed. Wreckless play, worth the 2 minutes but glad there was no suspension

The Refs got the call right just as most of us thought.....Waaaaaaay too many knee jerk reactions going on these days with this stuff....Harts is not the "animal" some depict him as.

meh who cares about the main board. 90 percent of the crap posted in threads like that are to get people riled up and get a reaction. I read like a page and a half of that thread and left.
I know Oiler fans are upset for their player being hurt. but other then that just a bunch of stupid in that thread.

I would have been OK with a fine, but this doesn't surprise me at all either.

It was sort of a reckless play, but nowhere near suspension worthy.

There should be some method of penalyzing him right there in the game. Maybe some sort of system where he is secluded from other players for a certain amount of time and the Flyers aren't allowed to replace him on the ice. Nothing too long, just a couple minutes or something.

Harts being Harts. He is just lucky he made contact instead of whiffing into the boards.

Feel bad for the injured player and wish him the best but Harts didn't do it intentionally, I.E stick his leg out to make contact

You mean like the 2 minutes he received in the penalty box?

Or did I just ruin your joke?

Sorry.

Good. I watched the video and it didn't seem intentional to me at all, seemed more like just a collision.
