Ewanyk Finally Returns

Good news on the prospect injury front as Edmonton Oil Kings forward Travis Ewanyk made his WHL season debut tonight against the Calgary Hitmen.

As you know, he's been out all year rehabbing his shoulder surgery. Long process, but he's finally back and ready to contribute to the Oil Kings in what should be a lengthy playoff push and a potential Memorial Cup berth.

Quote:
“It’s like Christmas morning, I guess, getting out there,” Ewanyk said. “It was great. (It’s) just great to be back and get a win. You couldn’t ask for more.”

Ewanyk made a few references to being lucky that he has the Oilers so close to help in his recovery. One of the perks of owning the junior club, no doubt.

I'm glad he's back. I didn't know much about him before he was drafted but noticed a lot of posters being pleased with the pick.

I'm interested in seeing what he can bring in the Oil Kings' (hopefully deep) playoff run.

Cool, he's going to be a powerful force on the bottom 6 for the Kings going forward. Especially next season, when I really think the team has a legitimate shot at the memorial cup. I don't see him being anything more than an AHL regular or a call-up, but he's got great character. You never know...
