Florida seems like the perfect, no pressure place for him to try and revive his career.

Maybe you'll even see him turn into a Radek Dvorak. High expectations that didn't come fruition, but then went to smaller market teams and found a small niche.

Good call!

I really, really wish he worked out here. A shame that he didn't. But I have the utmost respect for a player who doesn't complain under such circumstances.

I'm surprised more people aren't happy about this. We got rid ourselves of a guy that never played, that had a massive cap hit and we got a GOOD draft pick for it? How's that anything other than a GREAT move?

1) I was being somewhat sarcastic.

2) Parlett being sent to the ECHL could easily just be a paper transaction, meaning he can just as easily be recalled if necessary, IF Erixon were to be moved, or needed to be called up. Parlett could physically still be with the Whale at the moment.

And Bernmeister thought I was crazy - I said a 2nd round pick or a 3rd round pick and a prospect. Good trade for both teams. Hope WW can find his game.

Agreed 100%. He may not have fit with our team on the ice, but he never forced management's hand and he was always ready to play when we needed him. I like a bunch on guys on Florida already so it won't be hard to root for him down there.

Yup. Wolski's an enigma, but he was good for us last season. Didn't care for him this year, but he helped us. I'm glad he's gone but I wish him luck.

Good for Wolski. I felt for the guy this year and wish we could've worked it out. He put in the work in the offseason and as Jonathan pointed out, he never once complained. To me, the fact that he never got a real shot after coming back from injury was a little silly.

We only saw the guy in the midst of a horrid slump, injured or rusty. Never healthy and confident. Best of luck to him in Sunrise.

Good move to get the 3rd in 2013 and not 2012.

Nice cap dump here for the Rangers to set up another move...good work Slats.

Best of luck to WW in Florida, I hope he can refind his offensive game.

Good luck in Florida WW. I sincerely hope they make the playoffs.

The cleared cap space may pave the way for Avery to be placed on re-entry waivers and claimed.

Agreed. As long as he doesn't do it against us.

I think Wolski fits in well with what Florida's got cooking.

After their top line, they dont have a lot of depth. They're really thin on LW. Hopefully Wolski kept himself in shape because I can easily see him slot as a 2nd or 3rd LW and a 2nd PP Unit LW.

The guy has a great shot. Sometimes he's not too bad in the corners. I think he knows he's playing for a contract, so dont be surprised if he scores in bunches.

As for the 3rd rounder next season, i can see Sather flip it for a defenseman. But then again, that could be a high 3rd rounder in 2013 so maybe we keep it.
