Losing = High Priority Waiver; Should we bite?

It seems this is yet another advantage of losing the last few games, so should we bite considering many teams are offloading contracts to trade for big names?

How does Waiver priority work, and s it good time to bite? Can we trade few and bite on few?

Nobody's gone on waivers who's worth taking yet, especially not in a write off season. What are we gonna do, dress Rosehill?

Kolanos would be a good pick-up right now, especially if we make the trades we SHOULD be making in the next 48 hours...

talked about it in the out of town thread, but basically he's a talented offensive player who has battled through a nightmare of injuries which made any return to the NHL seem almost impossible.

was lighting it up in the AHL (with abbotsford) and has played well in his 10 game call up with the flames (despite not showing up on the score sheet). being sent down/waived b/c flames have a bunch of injured guys returning.

perfect "fit" for us for the remaining ~20 games if/when roster spots open up. a guy who is going to bring effort/intensity every night regardless of standings given how hard he's worked to get back to NHL level...

let's him continue "auditioning" for a contract next summer (with us or with other teams), and his attitude/story should/could help smarten up some of the guys currently "coasting" in our dressing room.

win-win imo.

Clitsome could be a good pick up.

For a team that needs a bottom pairing defenseman. We have 3 of em.
