Uhhhhh...

If you think this team as is can win the Stanley Cup then please return the medication pad to your doctor.

If Backstrom is lost for the year so is the season, the guys we have now will not get past the 2nd round, 1st is a stretch.

Yeah, 8th place Flyers getting in on the shoot-out on the last day with Leighton and Boucher as their goalies had no chance in hell.

Their two best players weren't MIA.

That said I think they probably will get to the ECF at the very least

Not many parallels, from the coach to the players.

Try to rationalize it all you want. There is a reason the games are played.

I missed the game last night. But looking at the box score I see that Neuvirth was held and interfered with. By any chance was there anyone on the ice upset by this?

No.

Cole interfered with Carlson making him erin into Neuvy.

Can't even remember the second one, but it was probably was weak.

He still is, Malkin doesn't get nearly has crowded as Ovechkin does, and we know how that turns out with Malkin, he starts sucker punching and kicking ankles when you play a little rough with him.

glass half-full guys relying on exceptions to rules are cute. your 2012 washington capitals: praying we hold onto an 8th seed so that we can pray some more that a legit team doesnt sweep us out (again).

selling off turds that wont even be here in 9 months does a lot more for the future of the team than this continued state of lackluster mediocrity.

Ovechkin better than Malkin? Maybe 2 years ago...but right now, it's no contest.

Jesus, take off your homer goggles for a second. Maybe Ovechkin would get crowded less if he actually knew how to play with the rest of the team rather than skating ahead into 2 on 1 coverage.

I hate the Pens as much as anyone, but you've overdosed on the homer kool-aid and it's affecting your brain...

Or the 1991 Minnesota North Stars. That was a horrible regular season team that owned the playoffs until the Pittsburgh series and even then it wasn't a push over.

I don't think the team has it to go deep in the playoffs, but anything can happen even with injuries. This is sports. There is still a lot of hockey still left and other variables can happen, especially injuries. If the Caps do make it in, at least this year they will certainly be under the radar. Tonight's game, imo, decides if we are going to qualify for the playoffs.

Hoping you guys can win this one in spectacular fashion tonight. Leafs have been embarrassed 2 saturdays in a row on HNIC and this one could be a game that makes the Leafs a lot less likely to make the playoffs. Get er done.

We are going to lose tonight because the leafs are a much faster team, with more skill. Simple.

However, this one game shouldn't be the deciding factor for McPhee on what to do. He needs to look at the body of work (which is bad) and, the fact that we are still 2 -3 pts out of a spot. Who knows?

Regardless, I will watch them lose...lets go caps!

the first penalty was bourque with an 'accidental' stick right above Neuvy's ankle, and oops we both fell down.
