Well someone that's for sure. There's no reason to make the Wolski trade unless it's to free up space right now. If they don't get Nash, they'll go hard for somebody else, that's for sure.

How in the world does New York afford these contracts? Adding Nash would just be whacky. They'd have very little cap flexibility to come and would struggle re-signing good young players. Then again they'd have a potentially dominant first line of Gaborik-Richards-Nash. And Dustin Brown is possibly being shopped. That we could get him with AK and a package of others would be a dream but I don't see it. It'd probably take Andrei, Weber, Kristo and a 2nd, at least. Dooo it!

As for the Rangers cap, well getting rid of Wolski smartly for no salary in return, saves them almost 4M next year, so that will help a lot if they want to land Nash. As for us, I'd throw the kitchen sink at LA to get Brown. They just traded Johnson, so I'd offer them AK and Tinordi. A big price to pay, yes, but we need Brown badly. Also I think we got lucky (or smart) with Dietz and Ellis. I think they have as good a chance of being on out team as Tinordi does. Tinordi could be a monster for us, but Dustin Brown would do for us what Cole is doing, and that would be so crucial on a second scoring line. LA doesn't want a bunch of maybes like Weber and Kristo, they need a potential monster like Tinordi. It's a big risk, but Brown is something we desperately need, and a player that is so hard to find.
Blues keep the shots to the outside but Halak kicked one out and the defenseman for the Blues on that play failed to pick up Wheeler, who buried the rebound. 2-1 Blues and the Jets fans are now alive.
He'd have given us much needed size on the wings. Much better than Bork.
Wheeler got size but he never used it much. A nice player but I'm not really mad that we didn't sign him. It's good to see him having success in Winnipeg though.
What does Rene Bourque have to do with Blake Wheeler?
Bourque has been one of the habs better players these last few games. Multiple scoring chances and crossbars.

He's good in the corners and around the net. Good enough to play top 6.
