Even if nothing comes of the Nash deal, this is a great move. He was never going to see another game so he was dead cap space.

Vernace sounds like the type of D that this team loves:

Vernace is an offensive defenseman with strong puck skills and passing abilities. Possessing good agility and shifty speed, Vernace must hone his unorthodox skating style. The young defenseman also needs to improve his positional play away from the puck.

The Whalepack has been great at molding the yoots, even at 26 maybe there is something to work with.

Wolski needs a team that has no choice but to play him in their top six, much like PA...hopefully this works out for him

This is spot on.

Good value for him though, I'm hoping Dubinsky is next out the door!

Why? Rangers weren't going to play WW the remainder of the season. They had 2 more days to get something for him and they did.

A bit brutal, but its sad to say I somewhat feel the same way, although his work ethic is top notch.Sadly we need scoring ,thats why he got the contrsct he did and hes failed horribly to produce...after watching him last night against the Fish sticks, even though he scored,he looked like **** in general..he needs a change of scenary.

Dubinsky didn't score last night.

I'd say the same thing to that, except to make it worse, he didn't score yesterday. It was Staal's goal.

good luck WW

edit: WW should do well for the Cats. First, there is his history of turning it on following a trade. second, he needs to play like a top 6 forward and get top 6 ice time to really succeed which he hasn't gotten with us. He didn't even get a legit shot to play with Richards outside of preseason. I get the feeling he will get that chance with Florida. Fleischmann is the only other LW that would be higher than him on the depth chart and depending how Florida suits up their lines, he could be on either the 1st or 2nd line. He'll probably push Bergenheim down and play with Kopecky and Samuelsson unless the top line is slumping and they try him out with Weiss and Versteeg. Seems like a good fit. Florida reminds me of us a few years ago, a collection of a bunch of 1b and 2a players.

I think he means "I hope Nash in the next one in the door" assuming Dubi is part of the package.

Sweet. Cap room being cleared. Didn't think we needed to clear cap to bring in Nash?

I was really rooting for him. Became a fan after his first two seasons with COL. Too bad he couldn't be less streaky and bring more effort here. Wish him well and hope he get's going as a Panther.

Farewell WW, best of luck in Florida.

Good guy and he definitely had his share of good games as a Ranger. I thought a summer with Gary Roberts would whip him into shape, I guess not.

Great trade.

Wolski out, making room for Nash. I still hope we add someone else to our attacking line, but I think Nash is the most realistic option to be added.

Wolski seemed like a good guy and a good teammate but at the same time he didn't seem like a Torts player. He didn't grind or take the body nearly enough--he was a bit of a floater. Not real sorry to see him go. He had no future here anyway--there was very little chance no matter even if he were having a much better year that we were going to qualify him.

This gives him a chance anyway to get his career back on track. Wasn't going to happen here.
