I love Dubi as a player and will miss that he is gone, but he wont be a long-term fix for Columbus. His stay in Columbus will be a short one. They will most likely trade him in his final year when they find out he wont resign.

McIlrath is garbage and Christian Thomas is another Nigel Dawes.

Again, Columbus ownership went to Nash and asked him to provide a list of teams to which he accept a trade. Why do you go to your $7.8 million cap hit forward that has $47 million still coming to him, and ask him to waive his NMC? Probably because your at the bottom of the league, and are about to get either the best or 2nd best player in the draft, and intend to shift the face of the franchise to that new player, and therefore, intend to build around him. Why pay $47 million to Nash to play 2nd fiddle, when you can get assets to use to build around a new superstar?

I also have no desire to trade either McD or DZ in a trade, nor do I move Kreider or Miller. Which leaves me with not a heck of a whole lot to get Nash.

Like many observers, I'm comfortable with moving Dubinsky, Erixon, a first and a guy like Christian Thomas. But that's not going to get it done.

With that said, I probably go for a cheaper veteran.

Same. I like Nash, but when you start dipping into the DZ's and McD's, I think the risk of disrupting team chemistry runs a bit high.

There was someone else too. I can't think of him right now. I thought it was a Columbus or Ohio-area writer.

I never said he was criticizing them. I said he sounded silly by saying being in the AHL or the NHL over Hockey East would "put a damper" on his development.

What does that mean exactly?

It's ok. I already know the answer.

Considering Kreider can become a UFA in 1 year if he decides he wants out, I'd Columbus would be pushing harder for J.T. Miller, who is behind in the development (because only 19) but a local kid from East Palestine, Ohio.

Time to Nash in?

Seriously. I've never been real high on getting Nash, but now I just want this to be over already. I'll be kinda okay with Dubi,Erixon,Thomas, 1st. Would prefer keeping Erixon if a deal get's done, but I think it's pretty fair value.

I will say I think the Rangers need Nash to be cup favorites, but they can also win it as they are constructed right now as long as Hank is in net. Hey, no one gave the Giants a chance either... It's all about who gets hot at the right time.

With that said, my top offer for Nash would be Dubinsky, Miller, Erixon and a pick.

Well said.

Nash has been the face of the franchise forever. It's probably smart to get rid of him now and stockpile assets around the new franchise player.

Howson will be fired no matter what. He's been there since 2007. After dealing Nash (and a few more), it'll take another four or so years to recover and be playoff ready.

No way he can survive close to a decade's worth of losing.

The best thing to do is fire sale the team, and set the incoming regime up for success. In the long run, his legacy might be tarnished after all.

In reality, he should just ask for picks, and allow the incoming regime to make those decisions, rather than stockpile a roster full of guys the new FO could cvare less about.

Sportsnet just said Nash is going to get dealt.........May Says TO.......other dude(lol) says Rangers

dont be surprised if Sather gets him while not giving up a DZ or McD

If CLB and Nash have an agreement he is going to be dealt, poker face time

Portzline on 960 right now. Said Dubi will be in the package as C-Bus really has liked him for a long time. Said he has not heard Stepan being included, but that it would make sense from C-Bus's point ov view. Said they want forwards more than d-Men. Said Howson realizes that Nash wants out and doesnt want to/nor wants him to, rot in C-Bus for the rest of the year. The writing is on the wall that he will be moved.

John Shannon of Sportsnet said Nash/Resnick have an agreement with Howson that he will be traded/must be traded by the deadline. He made the comments during the 2nd intermission of PHX@EDM.

I love Miller as a prospect. Kid has never taken a shift off. He's a bulldozer.

I'm one of the few guys who'd rather trade Kreider and keep Miller. Kid just seems more mature and NHL ready than Kreider was at this point.

Well if true it's pretty retarded that they let that arrangement leak. Good for us, but bad for Columbus.
