That is actually much more up for debate than you might think.

Erixon really doesn't have anyone ahead of him right now. He is just developing splendidly.

No one really knows for sure how Kreider is going to make the transition from the NCAA game. traditionally, the NCAA does a lot better developing the small guys rather than the large ones (Have a little experience with that, myself)

We have to wait and see.

Who are the several that are ahead of Erixon on the depth charts?

Our top 2 ready prospects are probably Kreider and Erixon right now.

Explain to me where Columbus has ANY leverage at this point? Explain why the Rangers have to give above any deal they do not feel comfortable with? Nash has taken ANY leverage Columbus has had by 1) waiving his NMC for only five teams, 2) having his agent tell the press that the teams on the list will not change if he remains a Blue Jacket in the summer, and 3) now leaking that Columbus has told Nash that they will agree to move him before Monday. The ONLY leverage left for Columbus is that Toronto is still in the running. And, if I'm Sather, and Burke intend to pay more than what I've offered for Nash and not address his team needs, I am very comfortable walking away.

I like Dubinsky. He wears his heart on his sleeve. His biggest issue is that he has always been an inconsistent player. That is fine if you're being paid 2.75 mm. His problem is he has let his agent run things to the point where he has held out twice, for money that really isn't deserved. If he was being paid 2.75 mm, he may be considered "more untouchable". Given his lack of production this year, and his contract, he becomes a movable piece...

I don't like him being traded but the reality is in order to take on more salary, he is logical piece that needs to be moved.

Miller is Anisimov's cheaper replacement for when he goes for next contract. Erixon sits behind McDonagh, MDZ and Staal.

to most people that may seem like nothing ... but it says a lot ... meaning even if he isn't traded (slim to none) they are going to move on with him at some point (summer)

As I mentioned before, I considered Miller to be Dubinsky's replacement, at least from what I've read about him. That's why I'd hate to lose both of them at the same time.

Miller is a very strong, powerful skater and he uses his speed to help him both
offensively and defensively. He’s an extremely hard worker and has the ability to get
to loose pucks as well as separate the puck from the carrier seemingly at will. Miller
has good balance and is strong on the puck when he has it and battles hard when
he doesn’t. He’s good along the boards and gets out of battles with the puck. Miller
handles the puck well and uses his balance and strength to protect the puck until he
makes a play.

For Dubinsky, Erixon, Miller and a first, I'm more than ok if Nash goes elsewhere. Nash is supposed to be a steal asset-wise because of the term left on his contract. It's overpayment with the cap hit, but for say Dubinsky, Thomas, McIlrath and a 1st we can't say no. Subbing in Erixon or Miller makes it a debate amongst the team's inner circle in my opinion. Both added to the deal and I am getting second thoughts. Let another team over pay and commit to the contract, I'm fine with that.

Again, we are here for the steal of an asset. If there is no steal to be had, we have no further business. We wasted our time, but not our players.

We only allowed more than 2 goals in 20 of 59 games? That's pretty impressive.

Or let Columbus continue to pay Nash 8 million a year to wallow on a terrible team. As they said, they don't have to move him. Not our problem.

Girardi, McDonagh, Del Zotto, and Staal are locks on defense for the next several years.

You cant assume at this point that Sauer's career is over, and he'll be back in the mix.

A cheap veteran free agent addition wouldnt be the worst thing in the world.

McIlrath is a #10 overall. Its a bad, bad pick if hes not in the mix soon.

Tim Erixon is going to hold up a deal for Rick Nash now? C'mon.

John Shannon ‏ @JSportsnet

Nash's agent JResnick tells Sportsnet that if asked to beyond his short list of preferred teams,Nash will refuse trade.
Nash's agent seems to be trying to do everything he can to take Howson's legs out tonight. He's suddenly so talkative.

I cant blame him either. I think Nash camp feels they were patient with Howson and that Howson is dicking around too much.

He said it's a done deal, will be announced later and BJ's might be adding another player to the trade.
