Please keep all other rumours out of this thread, and try to keep the Marinaro rumour out of the others. Thanks

I would assume there's a general plan when it comes to selling or buying. I don't think Gauthier would ask for permission to trade Gill and the approval of the pieces coming back. It's probably along the lines of:

"I think we should trade some of our veterans on the last year of their contracts."
"Agreed."

But I would think Gauthier (and any GM for that matter) would need complete owner approval for the trading of a star like Cammalleri. That's an important investment.

So wait, if the Gauthier defenders are saying Molson made the bad moves, what about cammalleri, gill, the ones we praised? Are only the good ones Gauthier?

Geoff Molson isn't acting GM, making player related decisions beyond a rubber stamp. It's Gainey, Carriere & Timmins #Habs

Basically what I said in last thread..

to answer the dude who asked if gainey selected Gauthier:

from what i understand from an actual great source is that gainey backed julien (who left for a similar position..strange no?) - while boivin wanted gauthier. in the end boivin was canned - or left in 'grace' after backing peladeau bid instead of molson ... this is FACT

This organization needs a leader SOOO badly. No vision or direction, just improvisation.

The Cammalleri trade was a good move?

The best thing about it was that "it could have been worse".

Same **** performances, but we got a 2nd and holland plus capspace out of it. Cammalleri is better player, but let's not kid ourselves, they are both below their talent levels right now.

Wonder if Molson told Gauthier to wait by the phone, and he'll let him know about his fate in 45 minutes.

I think if Molson wants to build a winner, he needs to throw serious money at Jim Nill in Detroit. He's learned from the best.

Hes holding down the fort until he hires a new GM. IE no major moves other than selling ufas until a new guy is at the helm.

Its not like they are out there shopping Subban or Price. People are making this out to be something its not. This is a good move as PG's time is finally ticking down and hes not aloud to pull the trigger on a major move.

Also firing a GM 2 days before the trade deadline would typify the season the Canadiens have been having.
