It would be a good risk to take because it mitigates any loss of Ryan Suter while also making us a cup contender.

The question is: Will Rick Nash accept a trade here to begin with.

I think that's fair. Wilson will not become Nash. Ellis is a great prospect but it's whatever for a guy like Nash. Laakso is whatever. The 1st is potentially nice, but again, whatever. All things considered for a guy like Nash, you do what you've gotta do.

Nash's agent JResnick tells Sportsnet that if asked to beyond his short list of preferred teams,Nash will refuse trade.
Nash's agent seems to be trying to do everything he can to take Howson's legs out tonight. Have there been any reports of Nashville being on Nash's list? I don't recall any.

Could we pull something like Wilson/Blum/Mueller/1st/3rd?

People say "why would Nash want to come here?" etc etc, but he's been on the receiving end of some beatings by the Preds in his career so he knows how good our team is. I don't think he'd miss out on the chance to go to a team that could be right up there in contention for the Stanley Cup...

I can't see one reason why Nash wouldn't want to come here. We have star players his age and are always in playoffs. Plus nice city with lots of stuff to do

That is an incredibly significant offer from Poile, if accurate. I personally HATE this deal, but tons of credit to the man in charge if these are the lengths he's looking to go to for this team.

It might be a bad deal long-term if you lose solid young talent, but the short term gains could be impressive. It could lead to Suter and Weber re-signing as well as us having a legit shot at maybe winning the Stanley Cup. I mean Wilson and Ellis can play a part in the playoffs but what Nash could do for us there would be far more than what they could.

Sucks that hes only willing to waive the NTC for a handful of teams (pretty much all the big markets I think it was). If in fact this report is legit.

Just my opinion. Bad cap hit and a player that, while incredibly talented, I don't believe is ever ultimately going to lead a team to success. Would love to be proven wrong.

Regardless of whether it's true or not, the naysayers of Poile not being proactive I think are going to have to eat a little crow.

It's a large price to pay for sure. Looking at other potential deals between Toronto and New York I don't think we'd deal both Ellis AND Wilson in the same deal.

Doubt we deal both of them as well, I think if Blum would be more likely than Ellis.

Don't get why laakso would be involved? I guess he could serve as a bottom 6 defenseman

It's looking like NY for a much weaker package. I don't mind. If true, that's a ton for the Preds to offer.

Switch ellis with blum... then yes. Still I would probably do this deal.

Just a thought,

What if Poile has a plan to land a big time forward or two. It falls through and is ten mins until deadline. Any chance he has a deal lined up in case of emergency and deals suter?? If he can't get that big time forward??

I mean with gill, suter for another good defenseman and offensive stud still looks good Plus probably more. Just s thought, I wanna keep suter
