Talk about spending where it matters.
I think that's a bit unfair. Nash is the captain of his team, his lack of a letter with the Rangers wouldn't be a result of not being a leader, just as it is not the reason Gaborik doesn't wear a letter.

The fact these guys don't wear (or wouldn't wear) letters on this team owes more to the outstanding character of some of the guys we have in place.

Just ignore his, quite honestly, stupid reasoning. I can see ther reasons for not adding Nash but because he wouldnt wear a letter is stupid

So when Gomez, Drury, and Naslund were our highest paid guys and our captains...

That was ****ing awesome, right?

Yeah, I thought so.

Nash is the only option at the party right now. If Columbus waits until the offseason that's not the case. If the Rangers land someone else, they're suddenly nowhere with Nash and in an ugly situation.

i got the same conclusion as you did. unless one thinks a letter should be given to a player based on stature and reputation.

St louis is scoring less than us and has 0 marquee players. Highest cap hit on their team is 4.7 million. I don't see anyone screaming how they NEED Rick Nash.

If you're in the top 10 highest paid players in the league and you aren't wearing a letter then you are a mercenary

the title is kind of misleading to be honest. It implies that we actually have some sort of progress on this "trade" but as far as i know its still all speculatiing BS

MSG the place to be has a well established irrational hatred of Gaborik, it only makes sense his irrationality would extend to other facets of the game as well

It's such a boneheaded argument too ...comparing apples and oranges. I don't want Nash either, but there are plenty of other better reasons than "he doesn't wear a letter." smh

Latest rumor around MSG- Dubinsky, #1, and AHL D Man Tim Erixson for Nash. Erixson does everything well. Needs to bulk up but will be stud.

Laurie Carr ‏ @byndblueshirts

That'll put a crimp in some trade rumors. RT: @NickPerri_SNYRB: Tim Erixon hasn't played since that hit he took from Garlock.

I dont think the injury would prevent a trade.

Erixon probably saw his name in rumors and decided to fake an injury so he doesn't have to leave the organization.

As long as it's nothing severe it won't matter much.

Well, he probably would not play this season anyway. As long as he can play next season, itll be fine IMO.

I wouldn't be surprised, I felt Dubi would do the same.

Erixon's not playing anymore because they want him away from any further potential injury.

And St. Louis is most likely not a real cup contender.

You're assuming Erixon is being held out due to an actual injury. Maybe the hit was a coincidence and he's being held out for trade reasons? Obviously I didn't see the hit, so who knows.

Hope Erixon is ok, and I would really hope we can keep him.
